New sports scooter with YECVT that produces raging acceleration

The AEROX inherits the bold and sharp lines of the YZF-R1M supersport model, and its sporty design has made it a highly popular sports scooter in Southeast Asia. The engine installed is a liquid-cooled, 4-stroke, SOHC 4-valve, single-cylinder 155cc engine with VVA (variable valve system). The maximum output for Indonesian specifications is 11.3kW (15.4PS)/8000rpm and the maximum torque is 14.2N-m (1.45kgm)/6500rpm. It is also equipped with a traction control system that reduces the risk of rear wheel slip on all road surfaces during acceleration.

The sharp design inspired by the YZF-R1M brings Yamaha's typical sportiness to the forefront.

With wheel sizes of 14 inches front and rear, the wheels look quite large for the compact chassis.

The model being introduced in Japan is equipped with the electronically controlled CVT transmission "YECVT (Yamaha Electric CVT)," and in Southeast Asia this YECVT-equipped model is called the "AEROX TURBO. Although it is called "TURBO," it is not equipped with a turbocharger, but rather has a "Turbo Riding Mode" that can be switched between T mode for urban driving and S mode for sport driving, and a "Turbo Y-Shift" switch marked "SHIFT" on the left side of the steering wheel that can be operated to select from three different acceleration modes. The "Turbo Y-Shift" provides three acceleration modes by operating the "SHIFT" Y-shift switch on the left side of the steering wheel, giving a turbo-like acceleration feel. Turbo Y-Shift" offers low, medium, and high speeds, which can be switched by pressing the Y-Shift button during acceleration or deceleration. The image of the system is that of downshifting, which allows for stronger acceleration and engine braking. These features make the AEROX a full-fledged sports scooter that is more suitable for riding on mountain passes than for city riding.

Suspension is provided by 30mm-diameter upright telescopic forks in the front and twin shocks with reservoir tanks in the rear, providing both high stability and sportiness. Under the seat is a large 24.5-liter luggage compartment, making it extremely practical.
