Purchased for my daughter! After careful consideration of the equipment and price, I decided on this one! Yamaha MT-25 [Webike My Bike Pickup]

The Yamaha "MT-25" is a naked model developed based on the full-cowl sports model YZF-R25. With the concept of a "cheetah of the big city," it balances agile performance with ease of handling due to its upright riding position.

The 2020 model change evolved to adopt inverted front forks and a distinctive front face combining LED projector headlamps with dual LED position lamps. It is supported by a wide range of users, from entry-level riders to veterans, due to its sharp streetfighter styling and ease of use in everyday riding.

Owner HIDE purchased this MT-25 for his daughter, who is currently getting her motorcycle license. Among other candidates like the Z250, he chose this model after evaluating the balance between its features and price. It seems the family enjoys motorcycles together, with his wife handling the break-in period until his daughter gets her license.

■Reason for Purchase, Usage, Comparison Models

Following her brother, my daughter has also become interested in motorcycles and is currently in riding school. The Z250 was also considered, but after carefully examining the equipment and price, I decided on this one! It will be delivered before she gets her license, but I'll have my wife break it in until she can ride it.

■Pros

Rigid inverted forks, bias tires that are kind to the wallet and temperature changes, a USB port that doesn't need to be added later, and all LED lighting. Although it looks like a mini cowl that would catch the wind directly, even at around 60 km/h, it feels like the wind is well-channeled, providing a pleasant breeze. A mini screen also seems effective.

■Cons

Although it's supposed to have an assist clutch, it feels a bit heavier than Kawasaki's for women.
The chrome plating on the axle nuts, heel guards, etc., looks cheap. It seems like it will rust easily.
It's disappointing that the engine tuning is the same as the R25 without a cowl. Before you can enjoy it at 10,000 rpm, the wind pressure is too strong. Tuning it to be more enjoyable in the lower to mid-range with more torque would be better. I'll try changing the sprockets to make it more torque-oriented.

■Advice for Future Buyers

The Z250 is a competitor in the streetfighter category, but this model has the aforementioned features, is cheaper than the Z, and has a unique design. If you're not a Kawasaki loyalist, it's worth considering.
