[Overseas New motorcycle model] Suzuki's Chinese joint venture "Haojue" announces new scooter "UFR150 4Valves VVL" equipped with variable valve

Haojue (a joint venture between Japan's Suzuki and China's Changjiang Group) has announced the new 149cc scooter "UFR150 4 Valves VVL," equipped with a water-cooled 4-valve engine featuring the variable valve mechanism "VVL." Advanced safety features and connectivity functions are also standard equipment.

Haojue has announced the "UFR150 4Valves VVL," a new grade for its 150cc scooter, the "UFR150." The main change is to the engine: the 149cc water-cooled single-cylinder engine has been upgraded to 4 valves and incorporates VVL, an electromagnetic direct-acting variable valve technology. This is said to achieve both excellent power performance across the entire range, from low to high speeds, and superior fuel efficiency.

The maximum output is 11.5kW (15.6ps) at 8800rpm, and the maximum torque is 14.7N・m (1.499kg-m) at 6000rpm, which is 1.2ps and 0.05kg-m higher than the non-VVL UFR150 (10.6kW (14.4ps) at 8500rpm, 14.2N・m (1.448kg-m) at 6500rpm). This new engine is reportedly developed in-house by Haojue.

In terms of equipment, it features a TFT meter compatible with smartphone integration and navigation display, and a smart key system using Bluetooth and NFC. Additionally, a 18W Type-C charging port, grip heaters, and power wiring interface for a drive recorder are provided.

The rear suspension is a newly adopted link-type suspension that efficiently absorbs vibrations and suppresses body roll, reportedly achieving a superior ride comfort compared to conventional suspension in comparative real-world tests. The standard equipment of BOSCH 2-channel ABS, DENSO TCS, AISS idling stop function, and tire pressure monitoring system are carried over from the UFR150.

The lineup includes two types: the "Fushuban" (Grab Bar Version) with a standard grab bar (16,680 yuan, approximately 400,000 yen) and the "Hao Gang Ban" (Box Carrier Version) equipped with a rear box carrier and guard bars (17,380 yuan, approximately 410,000 yen).

Haojue's in-house developed engine improves output and torque with VVL & 4 valves.

The meter is now a TFT color LCD type with smartphone integration.

A link mechanism has been added to the rear suspension.
