KOYANAGI's GPZ1100

The GPZ1100 ('83-'85) is the final model of the air-cooled Z series, updated to incorporate the evolution of the times with a 2-valve, 1089cc air-cooled 4-cylinder engine, aerodynamic half cowl, and rear monoshock. This bike is based on the GPZ1100 and is finished in a light lime green color.

This GPZ was originally a wreck, but the owner rebuilt it from scratch. The theme is a modern style. The swingarm was changed to ZZR1100 in order to put 17 inch wheels on the front and rear. However, it would not fit on the bike as it is, so he made the necessary parts by himself and installed.

Handle

Stock clip-ons have been replaced with a bar type. The indicator box, which was also separate left and right, is now the original one-box specification, and a Yoshimura PROGRESS Meter has been added. The clutch is now hydraulically driven, and the left and right masters are by Gale Speed.

Bodyworks

The exterior, including the half cowl and fuel tank, is painted all over a lime green base, utilizing the stock lines. The first half of the seat was also tucked and rolled.

Engine

The displacement is increased to 1170cc with Φ75mm WISECO forged pistons, and the cylinders are ICBM (aluminum plated sleeve) by Inoue Boring. The camsafts and clutch are retained.

Intake & Exhaust

The stock d.f.i. (digital fuel injection) fuel supply was replaced with an FCR Φ35mm carburetor. A KERKER megaphone was chosen for the exhaust system.

Chassis

The front fork is a GPZ900R stock Φ41mm and the stem is also changed to GPZ900R stock. The front calipers are stock TOKICO 6-piston calipers for other models.

Rear shock is brought from ZX-14R, and swingarm is from ZZR1100. Wheels are from ZRX1200DAEG. The sizes are 3.50-17 front and 5.50-17 rear. Rear caliper is XJR1300.
