Honda Motor Co., Ltd. will release the new naked road sport model "CB400 SUPER FOUR E-Clutch" equipped with a newly designed water-cooled inline 4-cylinder 399cc engine on August 21 (Friday). This model comes standard with advanced technology that automatically controls clutch operation, and the manufacturer's suggested retail price is ¥998,800.

The reborn "CB400 SF," finally released in August, comes standard with E-Clutch and is priced under ¥1 million.

The new "CB400 SUPER FOUR E-Clutch," which generated buzz when it appeared at the Osaka Motorcycle Show this spring, is a model that marks the revival of the "CB400SF," which was regrettably discontinued in 2020, with the latest technology. The power unit employs a newly designed water-cooled 4-stroke DOHC inline 4-cylinder 399cc engine. It delivers a maximum output of 58 PS at 11,500 rpm. This is a 2 PS increase from the previous CB400SF, and it's surprising that it has achieved both compliance with emission regulations and an increase in power.

The intake system adopts a downdraft type to ensure strong low to mid-range torque, and the exhaust system is equipped with a 4-2-1 collector exhaust pipe that draws beautiful curves reminiscent of the CB400FOUR (1974). This creates a unique "Four" lineage design, distinct from the previous CB400SF, while producing the expansive exhaust note and emotional intake sound characteristic of an inline four-cylinder engine.

Furthermore, the biggest highlight in terms of equipment is the standard inclusion of "Honda E-Clutch," an electronic control technology that allows starting, shifting, and stopping without operating the clutch lever. In coordination with the throttle-by-wire system (TBW), it reduces shift shock during downshifts, realizing smooth and comfortable riding.

The newly designed engine adopts an exhaust system reminiscent of the "Four," and engine power has also been increased to 58 PS.

The chassis features a newly designed steel tube diamond frame, with efforts made to reduce weight and concentrate mass in various parts. The riding position is upright, suitable for everything from daily use to touring, and the narrow front of the seat ensures good ground reachability.

The suspension system includes inverted cartridge type front suspension and Pro-Link rear suspension. This absorbs road impacts across a wide speed range, achieving a high level of comfort and sporty performance. The front and rear 17-inch wheels maintain the traditional style while supporting performance in a wide variety of situations.

The meter is a 5-inch full-color TFT LCD, equipped with "Honda RoadSync" as standard, which allows for voice control and other functions by linking with a smartphone. Additionally, a convenient USB socket (Type-C) is provided on the right side of the headlight housing.
