Troy Lee Designs Red Bull Ducati Factory Racing will compete in the fifth round of the AMA Pro Motocross Championship at RedBud on the weekend of July 4, 2026, with a full lineup, including the return of the injured Justin Barcia and the addition of nine-time MXGP World Champion Tony Cairoli to the team.
Justin Barcia Returns to Competition, Ready for RedBud
Justin Barcia, who missed the previous round at High Point National, will be back at the starting gate with his Ducati Desmo450 MX. Barcia sustained a minor back injury during the opening moto at Thunder Valley, forcing him to withdraw from the second moto. He subsequently decided to skip the High Point round to focus on his recovery.
Regarding his return, Barcia expressed his enthusiasm: "I'm really looking forward to returning on the special July 4th weekend at RedBud. I felt a spasm in my back at Thunder Valley, so I decided to take time off at High Point to recover. I'm ready now and eager to line up behind the gate and enjoy the festivities at RedBud."
Legend Tony Cairoli Joins the Team for a Three-Round Stint
At the RedBud National, motocross legend Tony Cairoli will join the team. Cairoli, a nine-time MXGP World Champion, is scheduled to compete in a total of three rounds: RedBud, Southwick, and Spring Creek. He has played a crucial role in the early development and testing of Ducati's Desmo450 MX project and is one of the key figures who shaped the current machine.
Cairoli commented, "I had a good time at RedBud and Spring Creek last year, but this year the machine has evolved, and it's in an even better state. I'm looking forward to confirming the machine's progress in a real race environment. I'm excited to see the American fans again, as these are all tracks where I have experience from last year." This participation will mark the first time the team fields three riders in the 450 class, further enhancing Ducati's presence in the American motocross scene.
