Make the Z900RS look more classic while also making it lighter! DYMAG x DOREMI COLLECTION collaboration wheels!

DYMAG, a long-established wheel manufacturer from the UK, and DOREMI COLLECTION, a Japanese custom parts brand, have teamed up to create a new wheel specifically for the Z900RS. These wheels, that went on sale February 1st, bring you a design that evokes the feeling of yesteryear, and their light weight is also a plus.

Unique wheels released in collaboration with DYMAG

DYMAG was founded in the UK in 1974 and became famous for their magnesium wheels. 1995 saw the company begin producing carbon wheels, and in 2004 they patented a hybrid wheel that combines carbon with forged aluminum spokes and other components. The company has a spectacular track record in top-category races, both on and off the road, with two-wheeled and four-wheeled vehicles. Their experience and know-how cultivated through actual competition is fed back into product development, and for 50 years, they have been a favorite of owners of classic and luxury vehicles, as well as racing teams all over the world.

And now, DOREMI COLLECTION of Japan has formed a partnership with this prestigious brand. DOREMI is a very popular manufacturer of reproduction parts for vintage bikes, custom parts in the style of the 1970s and 1980s, and exterior kits that recreate the style of the classics. They began their collaboration with DYMAG with the signing of a contract at the 2023 Tokyo Motorcycle Show saying that the two companies would actively cooperate in proposal, development, and sales in order to create wheels that have never seemed possible before.

The first of these wheels, the CH3A and UP7X for the Z900RS, are made of forged aluminum, which is stronger and lighter than the cast magnesium wheels DYMAG was known for in the 70s and 80s. Two types of paint are available: black and gold. Another key point is that the stock sprockets and brake discs can be used without modification. While previous DYMAG wheels required special sprockets, the DOREMI x DYMAG version allows users who have already customized their sprockets and other components to replace them without worry. It's also nice to see the traditional design reminiscent of the wheels of yesteryear with the use of the original yellow and black DYMAG logo.

Emulating the classic 3-spoke CH3 with almost equal lightness and rigidity!

The three-spoke CH3A adopts the design of the CH3, which has enjoyed a large following since the 70's. While the CH3 was made of cast magnesium, the CH3A uses forged aluminum, resulting in an overwhelmingly lower price, while the weight, rigidity, and strength are almost the same.

Even lighter 7-spoke design with race specs!

The 7-spoke UP7X wheel has achieved significant performance improvements in terms of weight and moment of inertia through technological development based on the assumption that it will be used in races. This forged aluminum wheel is also used in the British Superbike Championship and the Isle of Man TT.

The weight is down a notch from the CH3A. They are 7% lighter than the CH3A and approximately 3.8 kg lighter than the stock wheels.

As for the hub damper, in addition to the stock DYMAG product, a reinforced type will also be available. In the future, the collaboration between DOREMI and DYMAG will include an 18-inch model, which is often seen on older bikes. Will we be able to see the real thing at the Tokyo Motorcycle Show in March of this year maybe?
