singlebigk's SR400

The 1983 SR400SP, a model that falls into the realm of "vintage" and "rare" among SRs, was used for the base of this full custom by Singlebigk. The shop, however, did not simply install custom parts at random, but rather paid homage to the base model and used many parts from that era to recreate the café racer atmosphere of the early days of SR customization. At the same time, it is a very cool machine that does not forget to add a modern touch. Let's take a look at the details.

First of all, the iconic bikini cowl of this machine is a classic from the era, made by STINKY. The smoke-colored screen is a one-off, creating a dark atmosphere. The fuel tank, front and rear fenders, and seat are all Thruxton original parts. Combined with the Over Racing exhaust, which is also from that era, the result is a machine that will bring back nostalgia to old SR fans, but also dazzle young riders with the universal beauty of a café racer. Of course, not all of the parts are from that era; the top bridge, clip-on handlebars, aluminum swingarm, and other parts are Singlebigk originals. The parts were carefully chosen to match the atmosphere of the machine. By the way, the concept of this machine is a "manly, unadorned SR". It is a café racer that is not flashy, but exudes the characteristics of an SR.

Handle

The bikini cowl is made by STINKY. The smoke-colored screen is a one-off fabrication, giving it a classy, yet cool look.

The top bridge and clip-on handlebars are Singlebigk originals. The stock black tachometer is set on an original bracket. A Motogadget digital speedometer is installed below it.

Bodyworks

The large volume fuel tank is a classic from Bike Garage Thruxton, which was famous as an SR specialty store back in the day. The classic tank cap is also a notable feature.

The single seat is also made by Thruxton. This high quality seat could almost be mistaken for a stock seat.

Engine

A Kanrin flywheel has a strong presence!　The engine is tuned with a 500 crank, Yoshimura Stage 1 camshafts, and German-spec pistons.

Intake & Exhaust

The exhaust pipes are titanium and the silencer is aluminum. Both are made by Over Racing at that time...... These rare parts are also highlights of Single Big K's demo machine.

Chassis

The swingarm is original to the store, and the rear suspension is made by WP. The riding quality is also sufficiently enhanced.

The accent blue lamp is mounted on a bracket that has been modified from the pillion bracket. The deep attention to detail can be seen in even the most subtle details.
