BrightLogic's GSX1100S KATANA
A look that lets you know its in good condition and a cleanliness that makes you want to maintain it. This KATANA Custom, built by BrightLogic, has both of these qualities. The work started with a complete overhaul of all parts. The frame is reinforced, and bearings such as the swingarm pivot and stem are replaced. Greasing is done amply with a carefully slected brand grease, and the engine is meticulously reassembled.
The main harness was rewired, and the regulator is replaced with a new one from Suzuki's successor model. Furthermore, parts related to handling are designed to reduce fatigue and help the rider operate them accurately. There is no need to stick to with stock components, and it may be better to replace them with better parts to improve the bike. However, according to BrightLogic, in the case of the Katana, if you prefer stock components, it may not be necessary to replace with a racing carburetor, as the stock carburetor is easy to handle. This point may vary depending on personal preference, but such such improvements and skillful parts selection may lead to a better performance than a new bike.
Handle
The front master is a Brembo RCS, and the clutch holder is made by KOKEN. The windshield is made by OHNO SPEED.
The stem is a double nut type for secure tightening and operating feel. Treatment of switches, wires, and cords is cleaner than that of new bikes.
Bodyworks
The seat is a Supreme seat, with two-tone stock upholstery that nicely represents the bluish rider's side and the silver pllion's side.
Frame
The frame was inspected and diamond-coated. The top of the swingarm pivot and other parts were reinforced.
Engine
The engine was reassembled and painted externally. The carburetor is a TMR-MJN Φ40mm combined with a power filter. The oil cooler was replaced with a larger one, and the ignition is an Uotani SP II. The electrical system is redesigned with new harnesses, and a new regulator for Suzuki's successor model was used. The choice was made with emphasis on the benefits of improved reliability.
Chassis
The Φ43mm front forks and stem that clamps them are stock for the GS1200SS, which has been converted to 17-inch and can also be used for meter gear, but it will be easy to convert to Φ43mm aftermarket forks in the future. The front brake consists of Brembo 4-piston calipers and SUNSTAR Neo-Classic discs.
The rear brake consists of a Brembo CNC 2-piston caliper + SUNSTAR disc. The 4-1 exhaust system is BrightLogic's original.
The swingarm is made by Advantage, which has become a standard on BrightLogic KATANAs for its accuracy and ease of installation around the frame pivot. The rear shocks are Ohlins, and the front and rear wheels are MAGTAN JB3 in 3.50-17/5.50-17. Tires are Bridgestone S22.
