Sanctuary's Z1

The concept of this build was to maintain the vintage look of the '70s and '80s, with 18-inch front and rear wheels, slim front forks, and short tubes.

Even with 18-inch wheels, various parts are reinforced and the pillion step bracket is cut. Installing a sculpted swingarm is ideal for using a rear tire wider than 150mm. However, if try to attach a short pipe as is, it will interfere with the swingarm. Therefore, the tailpipe part of the exhaust is cut first, rotated slightly to change the angle, and then reconnected to prevent interference with the swingarm. A exhaust bracket that matches this modification is also created. The rearsets also use the stock bar while customizing the rod and master bracket to be able to use the hydraulic master.

Handle

The Z1 stock gauges are refreshed and mounted, and the Sculpture Φ38 steering stem kit Type-1 is installed to match the KYB fork. The Daytona RCM concept handlebars are also positioned correctly.

The clutch is now hydraulic instead of wire-driven, and a Brembo RCS clutch master cylinder is installed. The front brake master cylinder is also upgraded with a Brembo RCS.

Bodyworks

The white and black fireball pattern exterior paint was applied by Angel. The seats are Daytona RCM concept seats for the Z.

Engine

The engine was equipped with the "Life Package," which is designed for durability and longevity. The displacement was increased to 930cc using Wossner Φ67mm forged pistons and PAMS EST liners. The head was also replaced with a brand new one and assembled with countermeasure parts, while the oil pump was upgraded to an SMB trochoidal one. Additionally, the clutch was customized with a full range of options, including Z1000P conversion.

Intake & Exhaust

A Mikuni TMR Φ36mm carburetor is used for modern response and power. The electrical system has also been completely redesigned, and the ignition unit is a Uotani SP2.

Chassis

The frame is treated with Sanctuary's original frame reinforcement ST-II and semi-wide laydown process to match the 18-inch wheels, and powder-coated after blasting.

The front forks are a Φ38mm KYB, and the front brakes are Brembo Axial P4 30/34 calipers and Sunstar Trad Φ320mm hole type brake discs. To match the white fireball exterior and silver/black parts, black calipers and a black disc inner are chosen.

The rear caliper is a Brembo P2 34, the rear brake disc is a Sunstar Trad 250mm, and the exhaust is a short steel type.

The Sculpture 18" dedicated swingarm is paired with Ohlins S36DR1L shocks. Wheels are PMC Sword in 2.75–18 and 4.00–18 sizes. The chainline is offset by 6mm, and an EK Chain narrow-type EK530RCM drive chain is chosen.
