Retro Sets for Modern Bikes: CB1100 RS Custom

SD-BROS's CB1100 RS

Although it may be assumed that this motorcycle has custom 17-inch front and rear wheels like Honda's flagship from the early 1980s, the Honda CB1100R, it is actually based on the current CB1100RS. The bike is fitted with a CB1100R Type R exterior kit from the Doremi Collection and has been fully painted. The wheels have a spoke arrangement similar to the boomerang Comstar of the CB1100R, but are actually forged aluminum Lavorante. On the other hand, the paint pattern also follows the CB1100RD line. Even from the perspective of custom bike fans, the detailed work on this bike is sure to bring enjoyment.

They added some purple to the coloring and made some adjustments to the Type-R kit to achieve a well-balanced overall look. By selecting the RS as the base with 17-inch wheels in the front and back, they avoided the hassle of customizing the old CB1100R to fit 17-inch wheels. The stock parts including thick forks, square swingarm, and radial mount caliper are also working to create the 17-inch modified CB's style. Finally, SB-BROS' CR-1 coating was applied, resulting in a safe and nostalgic ride.

Bodyworks

The smoke type windshield is not for Doremi collection's kit, but for TTR Motors' CB1100R, to match the overall image.

The front cowl, fuel tank, and seat cowl have been replaced with a CB1100 Type R kit from the Doremi Collection and fully painted.

The rider's seat has been reupholstered by To's Custom, a company known for producing high-quality seats, including Supreme seats.

Electrical

As can be seen from the instrument panel, including the meter garnish, the base model is the CB1100RS, featuring a 17-inch front and rear version of the current air-cooled 4-cylinder CB1100 model.

Engine

The 1140cc air-cooled DOHC 4-valve straight-4 engine, which produces 90ps in stock form, and the black tubular steel double cradle frame remain the base of the CB1100RS. The fuel supply by fuel injection is also the same. The bodyworks and the matching of the two engines and parts have been executed to achieve this level of finish.

Intake & Exhaust

The exhaust system features an up type titanium exhaust pipe produced by OVER Racing and a one-off silencer created by Maverick with a striking carbon pattern.

Here is another angle of the silencer. The cylindrical shape of the silencer further accentuates the unique style of the CB1100R.

Chassis

The rearsets kit is a machined aluminum product made by OVER Racing. The pillion side one is designed to be detachable including the bracket.

The Bridgestone S22 tires, Φ43mm upright front forks, and powerful aluminum square swingarm are all CB1100RS stock parts.

The front and rear wheels are made of forged aluminum by Lavorante, with a matte black finish and a size of 3.50-17 inches for the front and 6.00-17 inches the rear, which is larger than the stock.
