[Limited to 100 units worldwide!] BMW announces Nürburgring 100th Anniversary models for "M 1000 RR/R/XR"! Featuring exclusive green paint

To commemorate the 100th anniversary of Germany's Nürburgring, which will celebrate its centennial in 2027, BMW Motorrad has announced the "100 Jahre Nürburgring" (100 Years of Nürburgring) special edition in collaboration with BMW M. The two-wheeled lineup consists of three models: the "M 1000 RR," "M 1000 R," and "M 1000 XR," each limited to 100 units worldwide. They feature the exclusively developed "Nürburgring Green" paint and come standard with the M Competition Package.

The Nürburgring opened on June 18, 1927. In anticipation of its 100th anniversary, BMW M and BMW Motorrad have announced a joint anniversary edition. The lineup consists of 9 vehicles in total: 6 four-wheeled models from BMW M—the "M2," "M3 Sedan," "M3 Touring," "M4 Coupe," "M5 Sedan," and "M5 Touring"—and 3 two-wheeled models from BMW Motorrad—the "M 1000 RR," "M 1000 R," and "M 1000 XR."

Common to all 9 vehicles is the historic "Nürburgring Green" paint developed specifically for this edition. The design incorporates the "100 Years" logo, the text "Nürburgring since 1927," and a silhouette of the track. The catchphrase for the edition is "Born on the Racetrack. Made for the Streets."

Exclusive equipment for the M 1000 RR/R/XR, limited to 100 units each worldwide

All three two-wheeled models come standard with the M Competition Package. Exterior features include a painted fuel tank depicting the silhouette of the Nordschleife, an airbox cover with the commemorative design and individual "one of 100" markings, and carbon wheels with Nürburgring Green accent stripes. The seat is Alcantara-style with "100" embroidery. The rear swingarm and rear frame are finished in black.

As accessories, the M 1000 RR and M 1000 R include an M cover kit. All three models come with a dedicated M motorcycle mat featuring the 100th-anniversary logo and a paddock stand for the rear wheel.

Three base models with completely different characters

The M 1000 RR is positioned by BMW as an "uncompromising super sports" model, pursuing circuit orientation, aerodynamic precision, and thorough weight reduction. It is the first bike to bear the "M" badge, and the 2027 model features a new frame.

The M 1000 R is a hyper-naked bike that brings superbike performance to the road and track. Power, agility, and direct feedback define its M character. At Webike Plus, we have reported on its 210-horsepower performance in a test ride.

The M 1000 XR is a high-performance crossover that combines power and stability at high speeds with long-distance ergonomics. It was announced at the 2023 Milan Show as the third M model based on the S 1000 XR.

Two-wheeled order and pricing to be announced separately. Will they be introduced in Japan?

The Nordschleife (North Loop), with a length of 20.8 km, 73 corners, and significant elevation changes, is known as one of the world's most difficult tracks and is nicknamed the "Green Hell." The relationship between BMW Motorrad and the Nürburgring dates back to 1927, the year it opened, when the brand achieved its first victory there.

For BMW M and BMW Motorrad, the Nürburgring is both a development track and a performance benchmark. The chassis, powertrain, aerodynamics, brakes, and thermal management are comprehensively tested under extreme conditions, and the knowledge gained is reflected in the development of mass-production models.

For the four-wheeled models, orders for the M3 Sedan, M3 Touring, M4 Coupe, M5 Sedan, and M5 Touring will begin in September 2026, and for the M2 in January 2027. Meanwhile, the order and sales dates for the three two-wheeled models will be announced separately, and prices have not yet been disclosed. There is currently no announcement regarding their introduction to Japan.
