This project introduces one bike that caught the editorial department's eye from among the 'My Bikes' posted on the Webike community. This time, we are featuring the HONDA 'Monkey', owned by 'SasurainoRider'.

HONDA's 'Monkey' has been synonymous with leisure bikes for over half a century since it first appeared as a street-legal production model in 1967. Originally rooted in the Z100, which was developed as an amusement park ride, it featured a unique design intended for transport, such as foldable handlebars and a compact body, allowing owners to enjoy it at their destination.

Equipped with a 50cc air-cooled 4-stroke single-cylinder engine, it gained many fans with its adorable looks and unique 'putt-putt' riding feel. The abundance of custom parts is also worth noting; it has a side as a 'bonsai bike' where you can enjoy infinite customization to suit the owner's preferences, from engine tuning and suspension reinforcement to exterior dress-ups. Although production of the 50cc model ended in 2017 to the regret of many, it still boasts immense popularity in the used market and custom scene today.

'SasurainoRider' was looking for a minimum-sized bike for transport touring when they found a Monkey with ideal customizations at a bargain price and decided on it immediately. The affection for this little partner comes through even in the nickname 'O-saru no Monkichi'. The 50cc version and the 125cc version are completely different bikes!
It feels like the size and weight are more than double!
Although they look similar, their usage methods are completely different, so please choose the one that suits your riding style.

I just bought it, so I need to set up the machine from scratch.
After making it a 'mini-touring' spec, I will build it into a machine capable of long-distance touring as well.
