Thunder Motorcycles, the company that created a buzz with its authentic 250cc bobber, has now developed the "Thunder FTS250," a tracker equipped with a 250cc liquid-cooled single-cylinder engine in an original frame that combines street-snap style and flat-tracker performance. The new model has both a style suitable for street snapshots and a flat tracker performance!

Mixing the world of "Stubai" with the margins of customization and dirt track riding!

Thunder Motorcycles, which releases original models and custom parts, is a brand launched in 2021 by Yuji Noro of Kurumazakashita Motocycle, a famous Harley builder. So far, the company has released the Hardtail Thunder 250 and Softail Thunder 250, both of which are full-fledged bobber-style motorcycles equipped with air-cooled 250cc V-twin engines, and both have been big hits. Thunder Motorcycles unveiled its third complete bike, the Thunder FTS250, at the Tokyo Motorcycle Show. This flat tracker is equipped with CF-MOTO's 250cc liquid-cooled, single-cylinder, DOHC 4-valve engine mounted on an original chromoly steel frame, a specialty of the company.

Thunder Motorcycles' original vehicle, the Thunder FTS250, where FTS stands for Flat Track Street, has an attractive style that looks great on the street.

The bike is designed by Noro, who has won numerous awards for his custom motorcycles, and has a great sense of style. The minimalist, curvaceous design shines through. The style is reminiscent of the street snapshots of the "stbikes" of the past. It is the image of what you see on social networking sites today," says company representative Noro. The steps, rear fender, and other parts can be easily removed, and the number plate is sold blank. It is also unique that the company dared to leave a blank space for customization. Production will take place in 2021 at the company's factory in China.

The "Skatune" is so minimalistic that you can see the other side of the car, but the design is superb with a sense of fun. With a minimum ground clearance of 240mm, it can be driven on dirt roads. The production version has a blank number.

The LED headlights are paired with a somewhat pop bikini cowl and front and rear split front fenders.

Cockpit with LCD gauges and flat tapered bar handles.

The fuel tank is super compact when viewed from the side, but has a capacity of 10.2 liters.

Tail cowl integrated with number plate. Rear fender can be easily removed.

The engine is a 250cc liquid-cooled single-cylinder from China's CF-MOTO, which is also used in the Mat motorcycle. It has its origins in a Japanese model and is highly reliable. Maximum output is a powerful 29.2 PS at 9500 rpm.

Front and rear spoke wheels are used. The front is equipped with φ41mm upright forks with TAISKO calipers and φ260mm wave discs. ABS is of course included.

The muffler is a stylish tapered short type.

The swingarm with stabilizer is made of original aluminum and contributes to lightness. The rear shock is mounted horizontally.

The rear disc is a 220 mm dia. wave type.

"I bought it for the style, but I want people to feel like it's a lot of fun."

Unlike previous bobbers, the FTS250 is Thunder Motorcycles' attempt at a different genre, the trucker, because "I wanted a bike that is more versatile than the American type," says Noro. It is lightweight, and the engine is good, so it runs very smoothly. I want to mature it and ride it as hard as I can." Like the Honda FTRs of yesteryear, the goal is to have a bike that can be enjoyed on the flat track while riding around town. The FTS250 is a proposal for a new 250cc bike that will allow riders to enjoy that kind of fun. In the old days, people used to go to dirt tracks on their own. Now we load them into our cars and go, but the bar for fun has been raised dramatically. I want the FTS250 to be a bike that can be easily taken to the dirt track for fun with its license plate number on. It's fun to ride on the dirt, and it doesn't matter if you can't slide. Once you know how to play with it, you will want a motocrosser, and your horizons will broaden. I think motorcycles are very interesting, and I'd be happy if people buy a bike just for style, but when they ride it, they find it to be a lot of fun. align="aligncenter" width="1200"] The FTS250's worldview was expressed in a video featuring a female model who looks good on the street, with Kabukicho in the background. [/caption] The development of the FTS250 began with a request from a Chinese partner who wanted a bike like this, but Mr. Noro strictly checked the bike and proceeded with development while frequently communicating with the company's factory in China. The company's factory will be renovated in November 2025, and they have "no complaints" regarding 3D technology, development speed, and production. Due to differences in motorcycle culture, there were difficulties in communication, and for example, it took "three months" until the body color was exactly as requested. Even so, the product has been built up to the condition of the exhibited model.

Reservations will begin in June, and the bike is scheduled to go on sale around summer.

The company plans to start taking reservations in June 2026, and intends to release the car in July or August. The price is planned to be in the "800,000 yen range. Trackers were all the rage in the 2000s. Recently, scramblers that follow in its footsteps are becoming popular, but the Tracker has its own unique style of ska-tuning and racing image. Since there are no trackers among the current models, will the FTS250 create a whirlwind? As Mr. Noro says, the FTS250 can be used as a casual foot pedal and is a great way for entry-level riders to experience the joys of motorcycling.

The ride position is natural and the footing looks good. The ride position looks natural and comfortable, and it will look great on a social networking site if you wear stylish clothes for the photo shoot.
