China's CFMOTO has achieved its highest speed record of 315.82 km/h using a prototype of its new 1000cc class sports bike, the 'V4 SR-RR'. While Chinese manufacturers are developing rapidly, this is the first time they have surpassed 300 km/h.

Over 210 HP 997cc V4 Engine with MotoGP-Derived Technology

The speed record attempt was conducted at the Shangrao Automobile Proving Ground in Jiangxi Province. Despite being a prototype, the vehicle, which is close to a production model without special race modifications, reached 315.82 km/h under the hands of professional riders Du Bang and Huang Shizhao.

The heart of the machine is a 997cc 90-degree V4 liquid-cooled engine, entirely developed in-house by CFMOTO. This engine, which incorporates a counter-rotating crankshaft derived from MotoGP technology and over 40 patented technologies, delivers a maximum output of 157 kW (over 210 horsepower) at a maximum speed of 15,000 rpm. The engine itself was first unveiled to the world in 2024 and appeared at the Milan Show the following year as a pre-production model. It has undergone three years of continuous refinement, leading to its participation in the world of top-tier supersports, including in Japan.

The 'V4 SR-RR' has a dry weight of 180 kg, resulting in an extremely high power-to-weight ratio of 0.86 kg/hp. Furthermore, it is equipped with an electronic control active wing system that reduces air resistance by 12% during acceleration and improves front downforce by 45% during high-speed riding.

The 997cc V4 engine announced by CFMOTO in 2024. This is the company's first liter-class engine with an original design.

And in 2025, the production-ready "V4 SR-RR" was unveiled. It is a world-class supersport featuring large variable wings and advanced electronic controls.

Advanced Electronic Control System and Technology Feedback from World Championships

To support safe and agile handling, the motorcycle is also equipped with an advanced electronic control package centered around a 6-axis inertial measurement unit (IMU). This integrates systems such as linked braking system (e-CBS), cornering ABS, bi-directional quick shifter, vehicle hold control (VHC), traction control system (TCS), and cruise control.

CFMOTO is investing significant resources in the development of its original machines and engines, allocating 1.22 billion yuan (approximately 29.2 billion yen), or 6.18% of its sales revenue, in 2025. Furthermore, through victories in the Moto3 and Moto2 classes of the World Championship and investment in frame builder Kalex Engineering, the company is rapidly feeding its acquired knowledge into the development of its production vehicles. They are maintaining a rapid pace to create world-class machines.

Currently, CFMOTO's official distributors in Japan primarily offer street models and off-road models, mainly in small to medium displacement categories. When this model is commercialized, could it be introduced to the Japanese market as a rival to domestic sports models? This is news that warrants further updates.
