I think it was in 2011 that KTM made a rapid leap forward in the general market. Until then, the company had only offered a lineup of full-spec, large-displacement machines that were "ready to race," but then it released the DUKE 125. The image of the strongest street fighter was maintained with an easy-to-manage 125 cc 4-stroke engine. This product was a huge hit, and the company subsequently expanded the displacement to the DUKE200 and DUKE390, creating a variety of fun machines while using the mini-DUKE platform. The 390 DUKE, in particular, was an incredibly fun street rocket with a short wheelbase almost the same as a 125, but with a 390cc full-power engine. I remember drooling with a certain motorcycle journalist at the Tokyo Motorcycle Show, saying, "This is dangerous ...... (a compliment). And because it was manufactured in India, it was considerably cheaper than the full-spec KTMs that had come before.
