CANDY Motorcycle Laboratory's SR400

Candy Motorcycle Laboratory has gained the support of many SR riders for their creative ideas and solid taste in machine building. The bike introduced here is a completely new machine that does not fit into any existing genre, and can be said to be a true demonstration of the store's potential. This machine bears the name "The Absolute". It has been modified so drastically that at first glance it is hard to tell that it is an SR unless you look at the engine. The frame was completely redesigned from the seat rail onward, and a mono shock was installed. The front and rear chassis were adapted from the latest Ducati model, and in particular, a cantilever swingarm was adopted for the rear end, resulting in a novel design and silhouette that has never before been seen on a café racer style. Furthermore, it's worth noting the remarkable balance achieved with impactful components like the compact seat snugly integrated into the frame, the distinctive one-off exhaust with its unique shape, and the OEM fuel tank from the BMW R100RS, all blending seamlessly without overshadowing each other.

Of course, no stone was left unturned in terms of riding performance. The engine is fully tuned with a stock SR500 crankshaft, Candy Motorcycle Laboratory's original 90Φ piston, and ST-1 camshafts, and the displacement has been souped up to 534cc. The carburetor has been replaced with an FCR 41Φ carburetor, and the suspension has been uncompromisingly set up so there is no discomfort at all. The machine also demonstrates exceptional performance, and can be ridden with a good feeling. As the name "Absolute" implies, this machine cannot even be compared to the common SR Custom, and should be called a masterpiece that radiates an overwhelming presence.

Handle

The front end was OEM from a Ducati 1098. The one-off mecanical top bridge has a Motogadget meter embedded in it for an accent.

Electrical

The headlight is based on a 5.75in Bates type, but the luminous part has been changed to a projector specification. Combined with the low-mounted clip-on handlebars, it creates a powerful front area.

Bodyworks

A BMW R100RS fuel tank was modified and installed to fit the SR body. The voluminous silhouette enhances the machine's presence.

The engine cover is painted with wrinkle paint, which tightens the impression of the bike body and at the same time gives it a luxurious look.

Intake & Exhaust

The uniquely shaped exhaust is, of course, a one-off production. The silencer is placed under the chassis for a soothing and sophisticated tone.

Chassis

The front brakes were modified to single disc specifications with Brembo radial calipers and 320Φ disc rotors.

The rear frame is also boldly modified. LED tail lamps embedded in the loop ends of the frame give it a futuristic look.

The cantilever swingarm was OEM from the Ducati Hypermotard. The combination with cast wheels is also exquisite!
