BULL DOCK's Z1(900 SUPER4)

This Kawasaki Z1 custom is put together with all the standard parts used by BULL DOCK at the time (photographed in the summer of 2020). The basic concept of BULL DOCK's GT-M (Genuine Tuning Machine) complete customs is “super-customized, but has a natural look and can be ridden normally,” and this concept is carried through with this custom as well.

This custom concept is supported by BULL DOCK's original parts that are designed to “provide better functionality than stock parts”. These parts are not only for making a complete custom, but also for improving the base Z itself. The engine of this bike is also upgraded with these standard GT-M parts, such as the cross transmission, Extra Super Tarkalloy cast iron sleeves, and forged pistons made by Pistal Racing.

"The customer's wishes take precedence over our recommendations. We ask the customers about their needs, riding style, and preferences for what they want to use. After that, we continue to discuss with them as we build the machine, and as a result, safe and high spec parts are chosen. More than 40 years ago, the air-cooled Z was the latest model, but in terms of current bikes it barely runs and barely stops. Along with the advancement of technology we make modifications to compensate for this with the hopes that these vintage bikes can still be enjoyed today. Then, we tailor the bike to suit each user. That is what makes the GT-M a complete customization,” says Mr. Wakui of BULL DOCK.

The one-year or 5,000km warranty, which you won't see offered elsewhere, is a reflection of the high level of perfection of each BULL DOCK GT-M as well as the fact that they always keep up with the latests necessities. In other words, a GT-M can be thought of as a custom that uses the most up-to-date selection of parts for the Z at any one point in time.

Handle

The headlight is by Raybrig, the left and right master cylinders are Brembo RCS, and the Mccoy brake hose separator can be seen on the front side of the lower bracket.

The Mccoy Stem is for upright φ43mm forks and the meter panel is a refreshed Z1 original to match the round Z1 tank style. The switches have also been modernized.

Bodyworks

The fuel tank, painted in a design based on the iconic Candy Super Red pattern, is a Mccoy Aluminum Tank. It contributes to weight reduction and eliminates the risk of rust. The fuel cock has been replaced with a Pingel.

The seat is a Mccoy Supreme with different leather for the rider and pillion sections. It provides both high quality ride comfort and hold.

Engine

The engine is 1135cc, with a Stage-1 camshaft, Pistal Racing forged pistons, and Extra Super Tarkalloy cast iron sleeves. The crankshaft and cylinder head have been replaced with Z1000J parts, making it a “safe, high spec” engine with the J parts as a base. All of the internal combustion engine modifications were done in-house by BULL DOCK.

The carburetor is a φ35mm FCR, and the diameter, funnel specifications, and other details were decided after discussing the owner's needs and riding style at the time of order.

Chassis

A Mccoy Outboard and Offset Sprocket was installed, as well as Mccoy Steps, and the frame dimensions have been optimized to match the 17-inch wheels.

The wheels are forged aluminum Lavorante in 3.50-17/6.00-17 sizes. The front forks are Ohlins RWU and the front brakes are a combination of Brembo CNC 4-piston calipers and SUNSTAR discs. The discs have been converted to floating with Mccoy rotor pins.

The rear brakes use a Brembo 2-piston caliper mounted with a Mccoy support. The full titanium exhaust system is a Win-Mccoy which is optimized for the Z.

The aluminum pentagonal reinforced swingarm is a Mccoy, and the rear shocks are Ohlins. All parts are set up exclusively for this custom.
