Brembo unveiled four new products for the first time at the EICMA 2023 show! Three of these parts are for motorcycles: the HYPURE asymmetrical lightweight caliper, the GP4-MotoGP caliper (the latest model in the GP4 series), and the 16RCS Corsa Corta RR clutch master cylinder. In addition, calipers and discs for SSVs (side-by-side off-road vehicles) were also announced. Details of the release information for these products have not been announced yet, but they are sure to appear on the market in the not-too-distant future!

Lightest weight in its class! Asymmetrical "HYPURE"

The new HYPURE caliper, characterized by its asymmetrical body, was developed with emphasis on weight reduction and enhanced operability. The pistons are opposed 4-pot, and the weight has been reduced by approximately 10% compared to conventional calipers of the same class. Of course, a high level of rigidity is maintained, so this model can be considered a pure performance enhancement. Detailed specifications have not yet been announced, but the internal structure uses a unique spring-pad-pin system based on a patented design. The specially machined bearing surface between the caliper and pad is said to minimize residual torque. The naming is a coined word combining the words "HYPER" and "PURE" to express the superior performance, rational design and form of the caliper. "It promises an exciting experience for riders both on the track and on the open road. The dynamism and energy of the caliper is real and essential for the enthusiast rider," commented Brembo. Based on this comment we can expect performance targeted at a wide range of uses, from the track to the open road.

■The new design is approximately 10% lighter than the previous product while maintaining rigidity. We look forward to its actual release.

The latest in the GP4 series, born from MotoGP technology! GP4-MotoGP Caliper

The GP4-MotoGP caliper is a monoblock caliper machined from billet aluminum for street use, featuring a slanted pad slide layout that is standard for calipers used in MotoGP. Bringing feedback from the racing world to the street, these calipers generate a sharp braking force. They also feature an anti-drag system and enhanced instantaneous pad release control, with consideration to reduced pad wear. A major external feature is the ventilation fins on the outside of the body. Although the previous model was also equipped with these fins, the new model appears to have an even larger area, which promotes heat exchange to increase cooling efficiency, and the air movement caused by the rotation of the brake disc and wheel provides efficient cooling. In addition to this functionality, the sharp and bold design has resulted in a striking race-like silhouette. The entire body is nickel coated and the mounting pitch is 100mm.

MotoGP feedback for the clutch as well! New Clutch Master Cylinder 16RCS Corsa Corta RR

Following the design of the RCS Corsa Corta RR series, the 16RCS Corsa Corta RR is a clutch master cylinder with a billet body, finished with a black hard anodized aluminum coating. In addition to the excellent wear resistance of the body and smooth movement of the components, the floating piston and seal in the mechanism have the same specifications as those used in MotoGP, with a piston diameter of 16mm. In addition to enhancing ride feel and performance on large-displacement engines, the idle stroke has been pre-set to the minimum value, similar to that of racing master cylinders. This allows the user to experience a higher level of precision. This product will be released as a kit with installation accessories included, and is scheduled to go on sale in March 2024.

Calipers and discs for SSVs will also be available!

Brake calipers and discs for off-road multicycle mobility side-by-side vehicles were also presented at the show. In addition to higher braking performance and easy maintenance compared to existing brake systems, the sturdy cast aluminum body withstands the toughest off-road conditions. The construction is opposed four-piston, and the disc is a cross-drilled steel brake. The weight has been reduced by 1.55kg compared to the existing product.

■Brembo products are used throughout all motorsports, from F1 to supercar, and have proven their ability to withstand hard use in off-road applications, such as the Baja 1000.
