Bagus!'s ZEPHYR750
Zephyr 750 presented here is one of the Bagus!'s works. Their custom bike always garantees your safe riding at least, but when you ask them, they will customize more along with your preference. The owner of this bike has already had his Zephyr 1100 made into a racing bike by them, and this time, he asked them to improve his Zephyr 750's sport riding. Bagus! has fully fed back the know-how it had acquired through their race experiences.
The engine was overhauled and tuned to increase durability and power output, and its displacement was increased to 843cc. A high camshaft was installed. A single plug was replaced with a twin plug, and the ignition timing was optimized using AS Uotani's ignition system while the intake and exhaust systems were modified to output extract sufficient power. In addition to reinforcement of three points on chassis for riding at a circuit, a laydown mount for the rear shock was added. These parts were finished with powder coating. Ohlins front and rear suspensions and a swingarm produced by Bagus! and ACTIVE were also installed to create a sporty structure. Of course, the suspensions needed proper set up to bring out the full potential of the bike in order to enjoy the sporty performance to the fullest. Actually the owner has purchased a used Zephyr 750, but after all, the exterior has been thoroughly renewed and looks more beautiful than a new model.
Bodyworks
The headlight body remains to be stock, but the bulbs inside are Sphere Light's LEDs. Since night riding is expected when going out for touring, LEDs were used to increase visibility.
The fender eliminator kit with an integrated aluminum plate that covers under the seat is one of the Bagus! original items which are popular, allowing the on-board equipment such as ETC to be placed neatly under the seat.
Handle
The meter body is painted black. The speedometer is a stock export speedometer and displays up to 240km/h. Yoshimura's balance meter is set on the steering wheel post to measure oil temperature.
To improve control of the front brake, the master was changed to a Brembo radial pump. The Zephyr 750 has a mechanical clutch, but a Koken holder is used for appearance.
Engine
The oil cooler is equipped with Bagus! kit, which aims to circulate the oil evenly by filling the oil from the top, and to cool the oil better than the bottom filling. The oil cooler itself is a high-capacity 11-inch, 16 rows unit.
The engine displacement was increased to 843cc by incorporating Wossner pistons, and twin plugs were used to improve combustion efficiency. Yoshimura's ST-1 camshafts were used for high-rpm extension.
Intake & Exhaust
Most aftermarket exhausts for the Zephyr 750 has a 4-1 pipe collection, but this Bagus! original exhaust has a shortened 4-2-1, which is adjusted to produce an exhaust note similar to that of a 4-1.
Chassis
In order to install Ohlins upright forks on the Zephyr 750, Bagus!'s short offset bracket is installed. It improves rider's handling.
The front brakes are a combination of Brembo casting calipers and Sunstar Premium Racing. The braking power and controllability are sufficient for street use.
The rearsets were chosen to be made by Blossom. They are one-position type, but the owner chose them because they can be positioned as he likes. Another deciding factor was the fact that they can be reversed.
The front forks use Ohlins for the XJR1300, but the rear is for the Zephyr 750. In the photo, they are set in the stock position, but mounts for laydown are also welded in place.
The rear brakes emphasize control over braking power. Sunstar rotors and Brembo calipers are combined. The support is specially made for ACTIVE's press-formed swingarm.
The press-formed swingarm has a balance of rigidity and flexibility, but ACTIVE's lineup does not include a swingarm for the Zephyr 750. The one installed on this bike is produced as a dedicated part for the Zephyr 750 by Bagus! and ACTIVE. The tires feel more in contact with the road, making cornering more enjoyable than ever before.
