Evolved Chassis for Ultimate Riding: ZRX1200R Custom

Shabon Dama's ZRX1200R

The owner of this ZRX1200R wants to enjoy riding. Although they enjoy riding, they do not race on track but mainly enjoy winding roads. Therefore, instead of significantly increasing the engine's power, only the intake and exhaust systems have been replaced. The exhaust has been changed to a high-revving type to allow the engine to rev to high RPMs. The cooling system has also been upgraded by enlarging the radiator capacity and installing an oil cooler.

Ohlins are used for the front and rear suspension, and the mounting position of the swingarm has been changed to allow the driver to feel the suspension movement more. For brakes, the front calipers use Brembo monoblocs for braking power and control, while AP Racing brakes are used at the rear, with the emphasis on control rather than braking power. The ZRX is a naked bike that offers an enjoyable ride, and this particular model showcases its full potential and appeal.

Electrical

The instrument panel with Stack's ST700SR in the centre is an original Shabondama product with carbon panels. It has an Active digital monitor and a fuel gauge in the top right-hand corner.

Handle

The stem supporting the Ohlins front fork is a high-rigidity monoblock from Wheelie, significantly increasing the rigidity around the neck. Additionally, the handlebars use Posh components.

Bodyworks

The Cozy Seat is a ready-made product from Daytona, made of high-density urethane and featuring a lowered design with a flat, even surface. This design provides a comfortable seat even during long rides, reducing fatigue.

Engine

The engine is stock, but it has a Yoshimura TMR-MJN carburetor installed. The cooling system, radiator, and oil cooler have been reinforced, and the crankcase cover has been dressed up with a Wheelie.

Intake & Exhaust

The exhaust is made of titanium and is hand-bent by Ohnishi Heat Magic, which is often used by Shabon Dama. The silencer is a custom-made short-type designed for high RPM extension and sound.

Chassis

This bike features Brembo monoblock calipers and Sunstar racing brake rotors configured with 6mm thickness. Additionally, an oil cooler with a thinner core has been installed to enable greater bank angles.

The swingarm is a Wheelie, and the mounting position of the rear shocks are ordered independently.

The rear brake is a compact AP Racing CP4226, and the caliper supports are custom-made by Wheelie.
