Yamaha Motor Sales will release the circuit-only model "YZF-R6 Race Base Model" on February 26, 2027. It will be produced on a limited-time order basis until August 31 (Monday), and it has been announced that this will be the final production run.

The Final Specification of the YZF-R6, Dedicated to Circuit Riding

The "YZF-R6 Race Base Model" announced this time is based on the 2020 model supersport "YZF-R6 (European specification)" and is optimized for road racing and circuit riding. The heart of the bike is a water-cooled 4-cylinder 599cc engine, designed for high performance on the circuit.

In terms of equipment, it features advanced electronic devices such as a traction control system and a quick shifter. Furthermore, it continues to use the same front suspension and front brakes as the higher-end "YZF-R1 Race Base Model (2024 model)," with no changes from the previous model.

Limited-Time Reservations to be Held in Two Periods

Purchase reservations for this model will be accepted at "Yamaha On-Road Competition Model Authorized Dealers" nationwide. The reservation period is divided into two phases: the first phase is from Wednesday, July 1, 2026, to Friday, July 31, 2026, and the second phase is from Saturday, August 1, 2026, to Monday, August 31, 2026.

The YZF-R6 has long been supported by circuit users, but it will cease production with this custom order production. Riders considering purchasing one must contact an authorized dealer within the reservation period.
