0024 Works' Z900RS
The full black body, frame, and engine area, along with white wheels, give the impression of a Kawasaki Z900RS that has successfully brought out its naked-like characteristics. It was built by 0024 Works, a shop that handles many Z900RSs. The shop's most common setup is a café racer cowl kit made by American Dream, mounted slightly lower and fitted with clip-on handlebars, but the shop also excels at putting together simple naked specs like this one. We asked Mr. Onishi of 0024 Works about the key points of this process. "This is simply the result of listening to a customer's request for a 'naked style.' The term 'naked' can include various aspects, such as handlebar position, seat shape, and overall aesthetics. I inquire about the customer's vision for the bike, for example color and shape preferences. Once I have a general idea, I can propose an initial design and build from there".
Mr. Onishi also has a wealth of ideas for individual parts, such as color and shape combinations, which he adds to his proposals. The advantage of this is that it makes it easier for the customer to fill in the details, since elements that are difficult to put together appear one after another in a concrete form. "Like many of our other Z900RSs, we have changed the meter panel and the top bridge cover. It's really up to the customer to decide what they want, with or without the cowl, and the Z900RS can go either way, so it doesn't matter which one you choose," says Mr. Onishi. A vision that embraces the freedom the base provides while demonstrating its individuality, along with a network that closely monitors new releases from numerous parts manufacturers. The combination of these elements is working well together.
Handle
The meter panel is changed to white from the stock black, featuring 'RS' on the left speedometer and '900/DOUBLE OVERHEAD CAMSHAFT' on the right engine tachometer. The handlebars are Hurricane clip-ons, and a 0024 Works Z900RS top bridge cover has been added. The front master cylinder is stock, and the clutch holder is made by KOHKEN. Both levers have been replaced with EFFEX levers, and a YOSHIMURA lever guard has been added on the right. Both grips are from Domino.
Bodyworks
The double-type seat is a tuck 'n roll type with original white stitching accents. The tail lamp has also been changed to a Z2 type.
Engine
The engine is stock Z900RS, fitted with YOSHIMURA engine sliders and a radiator core guard. Frame sliders from Beat are also installed. The American Dream Z900RS carbon injection cover and twill weave accents enhance the bike's appearance. Although an SC Project slip-on exhaust system was featured during the photo shoot, it has since been replaced with a YOSHIMURA exhaust to match the rest of the parts. The step kit used is the YOSHIMURA X-TREAD, and the frame plugs are also from YOSHIMURA.
Chassis
The φ41mm upside-down front fork and brake parts remain stock, while the front and rear wheels have been replaced with GALE SPEED TYPE-GP1S wheels in sizes 3.50-17 and 6.00-17.
The single-piston NISSIN caliper, rear disc, and the horizontal backlink rear shock and swingarm remain stock.
