Triumph Motorcycles has launched public voting for the custom bike contest "Triumph Originals 2026" on its dedicated website. Teams from seven countries—Canada, China, France, Italy, Spain, the UK, and the US—have entered vehicles created in collaboration with custom builders from their respective nations.

This year's theme is "Time Capsule." It is inspired by the custom culture that serves as the roots of the Scrambler, where riders in the 1960s modified their bikes to conquer deserts and dirt tracks. Each team chose a specific era from Scrambler history and created a custom build that expresses its style and attitude.

The results of the public vote will be combined with evaluations from a panel of judges gathered from around the world to determine the winner. The judges include Triumph's Chief Product Officer Steve Sargent, Chase McQueen (grandson of Steve McQueen), and Satoshi from Fonk Motorcycles in Japan, among others.

The entries are created using the current Scrambler series as a base, with a wide variety of approaches. The Canadian team presented an aggressive style based on the "Scrambler 1200 XE," incorporating elements of motocross and supermoto. Meanwhile, the Chinese team used the "Scrambler 900" to express the adventurous spirit of the 1980s, inspired by the 1981 TR7T Tiger Trail.

The Italian team created the "Dune 400" based on the "Scrambler 400 XC," incorporating the aesthetics of 1980s and 90s desert racers. The UK team used the "Scrambler 900" to express a functional, stripped-down look, as if it had returned from traveling the world covered in mud.

Voting is open until 1:00 PM (BST) on September 22, 2026. Note that details regarding a Japanese team entry or domestic activities in Japan for this contest have not been disclosed. This competition, featuring unique Scramblers crafted by builders from around the world, highlights the possibilities of customization.
