This project features a bike that catches our eye from the MY BIKE posts on the Webike Community. This time, we're featuring the SUZUKI "SV650X", owned by "Tankitou-san".
SV650X (650cc) Owner: Tankitou-san
The Suzuki SV650X is a derivative model of the naked sport "SV650", customized into a cafe racer style. Introduced in 2018, it features clip-on handlebars, a headlight cowl, and a tuck roll seat, creating a classic yet sporty atmosphere.
At its heart is a liquid-cooled 90-degree V-twin engine that Suzuki has refined over many years. It's renowned as a highly manageable and enjoyable power unit, offering a blend of low-end pulsation and torque, strong mid-range acceleration, and smooth revving up to high RPMs. The lightweight and compact chassis, thanks to its slim truss frame, provides agile handling for a wide range of scenarios, from city riding to touring and winding roads.
Tankitou-san chose the SV650X because they "wanted a cafe racer-style bike with all-around performance." The affordable price and reliability were also deciding factors. They refer to their beloved bike as "SV" and clearly enjoy the unique sound of the V-twin engine and its high versatility, handling everything from local roads to highways.

■Reason for Purchase, Usage, Compared Models
Wanted a cafe racer-style bike with all-around performance, inexpensive, and hard to break.
■Strengths
Looks: It's not a super hardcore retro cafe, so it's a cool bike you can ride casually.
Love the truss frame!
Sound: The 90-degree V2 sounds like an EJ20 at idle when the water temperature rises (noticeable with a muffler change).
Performance: The 90-degree V-twin has good torque and can rev reasonably well, making it highly versatile for leisurely rides on local roads, winding roads, highways, etc., except for extreme off-roading.
Handling: Not much different from the Super Four I learned on at the driving school.
■Weaknesses
If you want a hardcore retro cafe racer, a certain "Royal" manufacturer or Triumph might be better.
While the performance is generally capable of anything, it's not specialized, so in a bad way, it's a jack of all trades, master of none.
■Advice for Future Buyers
It's been discontinued, so if you fall in love with the engine and looks, buy it immediately.
■Future Customization Plans
Muffler if I feel like it, and also brake components.
