This project introduces one bike that the editorial department is interested in from the MY BIKES posted on the Webike Community. This time, we are featuring the KAWASAKI "Vulcan S", owned by "Ryuji".

Vulcan S (650cc) Owner: Ryuji

The Kawasaki Vulcan S is a middle-class cruiser model equipped with a liquid-cooled parallel twin-cylinder engine, the same type found in the Ninja 650 and Z650 sports models. While it features a sleek, modern style and a low, long-and-low form, it also combines the agile handling and powerful torque inherited from sports bikes. One of its attractions is the adoption of a unique system that allows the rider to adjust the footpeg position, handlebars, and seat to fit their physique. It has established a unique position as a new-generation urban cruiser that can handle everything from city riding to long-distance touring.

Ryuji switched to this Vulcan S to resolve the lack of power he experienced when riding tandem on his previous 250cc cruiser. It is a bike he chose with care after comparing it with the new Eliminator and cruisers from overseas manufacturers. He mainly enjoys solo touring and tandem touring, taking advantage of the relaxed ride that only a large-displacement bike can offer.

<From MY BIKE Comments>

■ Purchase Motivation, Usage, and Compared Models

I was riding an Eliminator 250V, but I switched because I was concerned about the lack of power when riding tandem.
My main usage is solo touring or solo touring with a passenger.
Since I like the cruiser type, when I was buying, I compared it with the new Eliminator SE, Harley's Nightster, and Triumph's Bonneville Speedmaster.

■ Pros

Even though it's 650cc, it's a large-displacement bike, so it has plenty of power.
You might not be able to handle it fully until you get used to it.
As for the looks, it has a distinctive headlight, so I think opinions will be divided, but I think that's actually a good thing.
Also, I can't say for sure, but you won't pass by the same model.

■ Cons

There are desperately few dedicated parts.
They pop up a lot on AliExpress, but I don't know if they will fit, so I buy them while trembling.

■ Advice for Future Buyers

New bikes can only be bought at Kawasaki Plaza, and even if you go to a Plaza, they might not have them in stock, so they are surprisingly hard to get. If you want a new one, you should contact a Kawasaki Plaza.
I signed a contract for a one-year-old model that the Kawasaki Plaza had for rentals under the Kawasaki Care model.

■ Future Custom Plans

The 2021 model's color is cool, so if I get tired of my current color, I'm thinking of repainting it to look like that.
