MotorGarage GOODS has explored a wide range of custom styles with the SR400—cafe racer, chopper, tracker, and more. Recently, though, the shop’s staff and regulars have been getting into the off-road scene. From blog posts to social media, it’s clear they’ve been enjoying everything from trail rides to motocross. Naturally, their latest SR custom reflects that new passion—a scrambler.

The SR introduced here strikes an excellent balance between fun and functionality. Up front, it’s equipped with the shop’s original 19-inch wheel kit. The rear retains its 18-inch size but uses a rim repurposed from a Honda CB400SS. The result is a satisfying blend of vintage aesthetics and a chunky, planted look.

Original parts are used for the front fender and seat, but with modified shapes and mounting styles to enhance the scrambler vibe. These thoughtful touches in line with its theme elevate the bike’s overall finish. One standout choice is the use of the stock fuel tank. “We didn’t want to risk running out of gas while deep into a ride, so we stuck with the stock tank for its capacity,” says the builder. While keeping its style in mind, it is full of ideas that let you truly enjoy riding on forest trails. It’s neither just for looks nor purely utilitarian: it’s exactly a machine that’s fun to ride and satisfying to behold.

Handlebar

The simple Jackhammer grips are one of the shop’s underrated best-sellers. The handlebar is a flat track bar.

Electrical

The headlight is a larger 5-3/4-inch Lucas-type, mounted with a simple prototype bracket.

Bodywork

The fuel tank remains stock to ensure fuel capacity, but the paint scheme takes cues from Yamaha’s iconic AT-1, complete with a playful Triumph-style logo.

A modified version of the shop’s original round fender is mounted high in scrambler style, adding character. A mini meter mounted on the triple tree contributes to the bike’s simple overall design.

At the rear, the round fender, retro-style taillight, and looped rear frame are all signature touches from GOODS. Even with a change in genre, their approach to rear styling remains consistent.

The seat is based on their original king seat, but built thicker to suit the scrambler look and feel.

Intake & Exhaust

The exhaust combines the stock pipe with a one-off mid-up section, finished off with a reverse cone silencer, resulting in a uniquely angled layout.
