[Moving from MotoGP] Jack Miller to compete in WorldSBK in 2027! Riding the YZF-R1 for the Yamaha Factory team

It has been announced that Jack Miller, who has competed in MotoGP for 11 seasons, will move to Pata Maxus Yamaha in WorldSBK (Superbike World Championship) in 2027. Leveraging his extensive experience in MotoGP, he is expected to excel on this new stage.

From MotoGP to WorldSBK: Bringing 11 Years of Experience to Ride the Yamaha R1

Australian Jack Miller, who has been active in MotoGP for 11 seasons, has announced his participation in WorldSBK (Superbike World Championship) in 2027. He will join the Pata Maxus Yamaha team, moving from Prima Pramac Yamaha MotoGP.

Miller began full-time participation in the Moto3 class in 2012 and finished second in the rankings in 2014. He then followed an unusual career path by moving directly to the MotoGP class without going through the Moto2 class. In MotoGP, he has ridden machines for Honda, Ducati, KTM, and Yamaha, achieving a total of 4 wins and 23 podium finishes.

Taking on a New Challenge by Leveraging Experience at Suzuka

Regarding this transfer, Miller stated that he is excited to extend his partnership with Yamaha and compete in WorldSBK. He expressed his gratitude for the work he has done in MotoGP over the past few years and also touched upon his experience testing the YZF-R1 at Suzuka. He commented that although the WorldSBK-spec machine is different, he is looking forward to this new chapter in his career.

Additionally, Niccolo Canepa, Road Racing Sporting Manager at Yamaha Motor Europe, welcomed the addition of Miller's experience and talent to the official team. He noted that his experience in Grand Prix racing and his knowledge of Michelin tires are particularly valuable, and he also praised his track record of riding the YZF-R1 at the Suzuka 8 Hours. Beyond the technical aspects, he also expects Miller's character to increase attention to the championship.
