Honda will release a new electric motorcycle model, ICON e:, powered by a removable battery, at Honda motorcycle EV dealers nationwide from March 23, 2026. This model, classified as a moped, combines clean and quiet running performance with the convenience of being able to recharge the battery at home. It is a new personal commuter that supports urban commuting, school commuting, and shopping.

EV System and Cruising Range with Enhanced Convenience

Under the development concept of "Easier and Economical Commuter," ICON e: was designed to be easy to use and to accommodate a variety of lifestyles. The power source is a removable battery, which can be recharged either as it is installed in the vehicle or on its own using a dedicated compact charger. When connected to a 100 V external power source, the time required from zero to full charge is approximately 8 hours. A compact in-wheel motor is placed at the rear wheels, and a power control unit has been introduced to efficiently control the motor output. As a result, the vehicle can travel 81 km per charge based on a 30 km/h constant-land test value.

In addition, the new model is equipped with an "ECON mode" that contributes to energy-efficient driving by reducing power output in response to throttle operation. The quietness and low-vibration comfort that only electric mobility can offer will make everyday travel a higher quality experience.

In the vehicle design, the placement of major components has been optimized to achieve a simple and slim package. The flat floor space and generous seat space provide a highly flexible riding position. On the practical side, a luggage box with a capacity of 26 liters is provided under the seat for storing helmets and other items. An inner rack in the front section can hold a 500ml PET bottle, and a USB Type-A socket is provided as standard equipment for charging mobile devices. The suspension features Honda's unique combination brake system, which distributes braking force to the front and rear wheels in appropriate proportions, combined with a disc brake at the front.

Easy-to-read, full-digital gauges

High-intensity LEDs were chosen for the lights, and the headlights have a flush-surface design with no irregularities for an advanced look. A full-digital inverted LCD meter with excellent visibility is also employed, simply displaying speed and battery level. Three color variations are available: Pearl Snowflake White, Poseidon Black Metallic, and Candy Luster Red, with a manufacturer's suggested retail price of 220,000 yen.
