Bimota has officially announced that the KB998 Rimini, a superbike homologation model whose release had been postponed for various reasons, will go on sale on November 8, 2025 (Saturday). The price is 6.93 million yen, and the small number of units produced will limit the number of riders who will be able to obtain one, but we cannot hide our excitement at the prospect of this near-superbike machine being unleashed on public roads.

Bimota is serious about creating a superbike homologation model.

The Bimota Supersport KB998 Rimini, which was unveiled at EICMA in 2024 and has been competing in World Superbike since 2025, is powered by a ZX-10RR-based engine mounted on a Bimota-made tubular steel trellis + aluminum frame, and is the first World Superbike homologation model to be built by Bimota. The bike will be produced in 500 units by 2026 as a homologation machine for World Superbike.

The engine specs are 147.1 kW (200 hp) maximum output at 13600 rpm and 111 N-m (11.3 kgm) maximum torque at 11700 rpm, with KCMF (Kawasaki Cornering Management Function), S-KTRC ( Sport Kawasaki Traction Control System), KQS (Kawasaki Quick Shifter), power mode selection, cruise control, and other electronic features. The carbon cowl is fitted with variable winglets that generate downforce up to 160 km/h, and between 160 km/h and 200 km/h they are variable to a horizontal position to minimize drag. The frame is a chrome molybdenum trellis frame bolted to a billet aluminum alloy plate. The swingarm, which is assembled to this frame, is made of machined aluminum parts welded together. This "KB998 Rimini" will be sold exclusively through authorized bimota dealers and will go on sale on November 8, 2025 for 6.93 million yen.
