Herlings secures the title with overwhelming strength

At the MXGP held in Turkey, Honda HRC PETRONAS' Jeffrey Herlings showcased an overwhelming performance. After taking the holeshot in the first heat, he led to the checkered flag, securing his 6th world championship title at that moment. In the following second heat, he took the holeshot again and won the overall victory after a fierce battle for the lead with teammate Tom Vialle, winning by a margin of 0.499 seconds.

Vialle finished 4th in the first heat and 2nd in the second heat, taking 2nd place overall. This resulted in a historic one-two finish for Honda HRC PETRONAS in the GP. Ruben Fernandez, who was injured in an incident the previous day, also pushed through the pain to compete, finishing 12th in the first heat and 9th in the second heat for 11th overall, earning valuable points.

The next race is scheduled to be held in Shanghai, China, next weekend. Although the championship has been decided, Herlings has shown his determination to pursue victory until the end of the season, and Vialle is also gaining momentum as he aims to climb to 4th in the rankings.

The newly crowned champion Herlings said, "Tom didn't make it easy for me in the second heat, but I am very satisfied with the GP win, my 6th world title, and maintaining my winning streak. I am highly motivated for the remaining two races and next year." Vialle, who narrowly missed the win, also looked ahead, saying, "I gave it my all to win the second heat, but Jeffrey didn't make any mistakes. I aim to win the remaining races in China and Australia."

Fernandez, who competed despite his injury, reflected on the race: "I wasn't at 100 percent, but I fought with everything I had for every point. Although I was outside the top 10, I am proud of my effort."

Team Manager Marcus Pereira de Freitas praised the team's collective effort: "Jeffrey's world championship win was our goal from the beginning of the year. Jeffrey and Tom taking a one-two finish in the GP and Jeffrey extending his winning streak to 17 is the result of the amazing work by everyone on the team. Ruben also did a great job earning points while enduring pain." Further success for the Honda team is expected at the next round in China.
