W800 (770cc) Owner: Kindou

The Kawasaki "W800" is a Kawasaki air-cooled vertical twin model that strongly inherits the British motorcycle style of the 1960s. Its roots trace back to the W1, released in 1966, and it is a long-selling model loved by many riders for its high-dimensional fusion of modern riding performance and classical styling.

It first appeared in 2011. While its predecessor, the W650, used carburetors, the W800 increased displacement and adopted fuel injection, improving reliability and environmental performance. Although it disappeared from the lineup once in 2016, it made a comeback in 2020 with refinements, mainly to the chassis. For riders who prioritize the "riding feel" of a motorcycle, such as the pulse of the air-cooled engine, the exhaust sound, and the vibrations transmitted through the chassis, the W800 is an extremely attractive option.

Owner Kindou compared it with Honda's CB1100 and chose the W800 due to its lower maintenance costs. He mainly uses it for day touring and enjoys the pure fun of motorcycling with his bike, which he affectionately calls "W8-san".

< Editor's Recommendation >
< Motivation for Purchase, Usage, and Comparison Models >

Low maintenance costs, large displacement, day touring, CB1100

< Strengths and Satisfying Points >

Low maintenance costs

< Weaknesses and Dissatisfying Points >

Slow. Insufficient rigidity, so not good for high-speed riding.
However, it changed dramatically after rewriting the ECU... lol

< Advice for Potential Buyers >

Kawasaki is a user-friendly company.
As minor changes are made repeatedly, the shortcomings are resolved, so I think the newer the better.

< Future Customization Plans >

High seat
Brake and clutch levers
BODY DAMPER
Nitron R shocks
