For Long-distance Riding: Honda CB750 Custom

Shop Mellows' CB750

This CB750 (RC42) could not track straight before. Shop Mellows has been solving such unexplained problems, and has done a lot of maintenance and customization work for each customer. They made the bike can be ridden in a straight line, then replaced the consumable parts. The sprockets are made of steel for durability, as the bike is ridden by a long-distance rider. The drive chain was replaced from 525 to 520. Levers and steps were replaced to improve control, and work was done on the suspension after the owner became accustomed to the bike.

The rear shocks are Ohlins, but only simple configuration models are compatible with RC42. Therefore, Mellows chose a different one for a wide range of adjustment. There was the same background for the front forks. They chose products by MATRIS, and installed it with a one-off inner cartridge kit. In addition, MATRIS steering damper was installed referring to the AMA Superbike Championship CBF Racer. In this way, they made up well for the disadvantage of having no parts, and incorporated elements to provide safety with the long-distance rider. Such effective customs are more than enough to be helpful.

Handle

The steering stem and gauges are retained and YOSHIMURA PROGRESS Meter is added. The handlebar is installed with EFFEX and narrowed in width. The front master is Brembo semi-radial (reservoir tank is Brembo semi-smoke), and both brake and clutch levers are ACCOSSATO CNC dial levers.

At the top of the Φ41mm front fork, the damping force adjustment section of one-off cartridge kit can be seen.

Engine

The DOHC 4-valve air-cooled 4-cylinder engine with 747 cc and 75 hp, negative pressure carburetor with TPS, and 6-rows core oil cooler are all retained.

Chassis

MATRIS steering damper is housed under the steering head. A link extending from under the stem controls the rod of the damper fixed to the frame, and the mechanism imitates that of the AHM American Honda Racer CBF.

The Φ41mm front forks are fitted with a one-off inner cartridge kit. The front brake consists of Brembo 65mm pitch mounted with one-off duralumin thick bracket. The brake disc is retained.

The rear brake consists of Kashima coated stock caliper pistons for improved operation. The silencer is MORIWAKI ZERO which is made of titanium.

Square pipe steel swingarm and wheels are retained. Ohlins rear shocks has been internally modified to be fully adjustable.
