Nicolo Bulega, currently dominating World Superbike, to join MotoGP in 2027!

It has been announced that Nicolo Bulega, who is currently active in the Superbike World Championship (WorldSBK), will step up to the MotoGP class starting from the 2027 season. He will be joining the "Pertamina Enduro VR46 Racing Team."

Heading to MotoGP with new regulations, backed by overwhelming success in WorldSBK

Nicolo Bulega, who competes in the Superbike World Championship (WorldSBK) for Aruba.it Racing - Ducati, will step up to MotoGP in 2027. He will be joining the "Pertamina Enduro VR46 Racing Team" and will ride an 850cc Ducati GP machine in accordance with the new regulations starting in 2027.

After previously competing in the Moto3 and Moto2 classes, Bulega moved to the Supersport World Championship (WorldSSP) in 2022. In 2023, he brought Ducati its first title in that class and was promoted to WorldSBK starting in 2024. After finishing his rookie year ranked 2nd, he set a record of 21 consecutive wins from the start of the 2026 season and is currently pushing forward toward winning the title.

Additionally, Bulega has been serving as a test rider for Ducati's development program based on the new technical regulations. For him, having previously been a member of the VR46 Riders Academy, this transfer also signifies a return to his old home.

Regarding this announcement, Bulega expressed his joy, saying, "Reaching MotoGP was a dream. Since I was a member of the VR46 Riders Academy as a child, being able to take this step with people I know well is also reassuring on a personal level." He also reflected on his career so far, stating, "The few years in WorldSBK exceeded my expectations. It has been a different path than others, but I am proud to have achieved this goal."

Pertamina Enduro VR46 Racing Team manager Pablo Nieto expressed his expectations, saying, "He is dominating WorldSBK and has proven that he deserves to be in MotoGP. His experience with WorldSBK tires and his experience as a Ducati test rider will help him adapt to the new category."

Ducati Corse General Manager Gigi Dall'Igna also praised him, saying, "His journey proves that he is a rider with solid current success and a very promising future. The time has come to start a new challenge." For now, the team plans to continue fighting together toward winning the title in the WorldSBK championship he is currently competing in.
