Zooming into Second Place: HONDA MONKEY Custom by Chama Works

Chama Works' MONKEY

The round double headlights, seat, seat frame, and other parts of the bike might make you think of the ZOOMER. In fact, the concept behind this custom was "to take a Monkey and customize it like a ZOOMER". It's certainly true that if you just keep doing the same thing, you'll never be able to aim for the top. So, the team decided to incorporate a unique, original style for their entry into the 2023 Enjoy 4 Mini Custom Contest, and this bike won second place. Many parts are fun to look at, such as the subframe, the shapes of various parts, and the way the swingarm is reinforced. Not just innovative ideas for styling, but some interesting glimpses into the structure can also be seen, such as the front fork bottom case being integrated with the brake support!

Handle

The twin headlights are from a Harley-Davidson DYNA. The front forks are a shortened version of the standard forks for a KSR and the stem, made by G-Craft, is also for a KSR.

Bodyworks

The one-off seat frame looks like it should be on a lowered ZOOMER. The complex swingarm and conversion to monoshock help to build the scooter-like style.

Engine

The top end of the engine uses a DAYTONA Finger Follower Kit and the bottom end is composed of SP Takegawa parts. The two very popular brands are perfectly combined. The oil cooler mount is also impressive.

Intake & Exhaust

The exhaust pipe was made as a one-off and combined with a silencer from MIVV, a manufacturer of slip-on exhausts. The bracket and other parts are kept to a simple length.

Chassis

The bottom cases on the front forks are machined. They are integrated with the brake support so that SHIFT UP Billet Calipers can be attached without modification!

The special style swingarm shape and reinforcements take this bike to another level of perfection. The front and rear wheels are by DOUGLAS WHEELS, and the rear size is 8.0J.
