Yamaha's Historic Machines and Modern Models Shine at Goodwood! Kenny Roberts Blazes the Hill Climb on the "XSR900 GP"

Yamaha Motor Europe participated in the "Goodwood Festival of Speed" held in the UK. The company showcased the connection between its racing heritage and modern models, highlighted by legendary rider Kenny Roberts riding the new XSR900 GP in his signature colors up the hill climb.

Kenny Roberts Captivates the Crowd on the Yellow & Black XSR900 GP

At the "Goodwood Festival of Speed," a celebration of motorsport held in Sussex, UK, Yamaha showcased over 70 years of racing history and technological evolution. The venue brought together everything from legendary classic machines to the latest models, thrilling numerous fans.

Drawing particular attention was the appearance of "King" Kenny Roberts, a three-time 500cc World Champion. Roberts rode the new XSR900 GP, adorned in his iconic yellow and black inter colors.

After a powerful burnout at the start line, Roberts ascended the famous Goodwood hill climb, waving to thousands of fans lining the route and filling the air with the sound of the CP3 (Crossplane three-cylinder) engine.

XSR900 GP in Rainey Livery and YZR500 Also on Display

This event also featured an XSR900 GP in Kenny Roberts' livery, making its UK debut, alongside another XSR900 GP inspired by Wayne Rainey's colors. Additionally, an YZR-R7 in the red and white 70th-anniversary livery was displayed, emphasizing Yamaha's lineage of sport heritage.

In the race paddock, the actual YZR500 Grand Prix machine that Wayne Rainey rode to win the World Championship in 1992 was exhibited. This legendary two-stroke machine captured the attention of visitors as a symbol of the racing DNA Yamaha has cultivated over many years.

The Goodwood event also attracted superstars such as Formula 1 World Champion Lando Norris and nine-time MotoGP World Champion Valentino Rossi. Yamaha not only revisited its glorious past but also demonstrated how that passion and technology are carried forward into its modern production models.
