Sibling Models Face Off in a Custom Battle! “BATTLE OF THE TWINS” Held in Europe! The CB750 HORNET and XL750 TRANSALP Compete in an “On-Road vs. Off-Road” Popularity Contest

Honda’s “Wheels and Waves” custom competition, held in Europe, introduced a new element in 2026.Now in its seventh year, this competition features 10 custom builds—each pairing a 750cc Hornet with a Transalp—going head-to-head in an “On-Road vs. Off-Road” contest.Keep an eye on the custom builders’ skills as they further enhance the unique personalities of these machines, which share the same engine family but have distinct characters.

A diverse array of custom bikes has gathered under the theme “On-Road vs. Off-Road.”

Honda will host the hondacustoms.com custom competition at “Wheels and Waves” in Biarritz, France, in 2026.Now in its seventh year, this competition—themed “On-Road vs. Off-Road”—will feature 10 custom motorcycles based on Honda’s CB750 HORNET and XL750 TRANSALP competing against one another.

This year will also feature commentary from the original styling designers who created the custom bike designs. This new element builds on the success of past competitions.Valerio Aiello is responsible for the Transalp’s design, and Giovanni Dovis for the Hornet’s; both are members of Honda’s Rome R&D Center.

Under the theme “On-Road vs. Off-Road,” five Hornets and five Transalps have been customized to bring out their individual personalities to the fullest. These custom bikes will be on display at the “Wheels and Waves” festival, held in Biarritz from June 10 to 14, 2026.

In addition, an online poll is being held on the hondacustoms.com website, where users can vote for their favorite custom bike. The results will be announced at the end of summer, determining the most popular custom bike in Europe.

Details on these unique custom builds

In the “On-Road” category, “White Venom” by Germany’s Motocrew is a CB750 that emphasizes its character as a modern street tracker. “Sting Honey” by Poland’s Honda Sokół and Steel Choppers features a paint job inspired by a honeycomb structure.Spain’s Stilmoto presents “Last Lap,” a custom bike reminiscent of an ’80s racer. Portugal’s Mototrofa has created “Mugen,” a machine that enhances the appeal of a streetfighter.Switzerland’s Stark Industries presented “Concept 2077,” a futuristic design featuring 3D-printed bodywork.

Meanwhile, in the “Off-Road” category, “Ruth” by Austria’s Reier Motors is an enduro adventure bike inspired by the Baja off-road races. France’s CB77 by Gauvin presents “Ocean Nomad,” a bike that blends surf culture with a nostalgic vibe.Benelux Honda and Anquety Motor Sport have created the “ATC750,” inspired by the off-road three-wheeler ATC. Italy’s DRS Custom unveiled “Saharja,” a rally concept themed around desert travel.CJ Ball from the UK rounds out the lineup with the “40th Anniversary ’86 Dakar Tribute,” a tribute to the 1986 Dakar Rally-winning NXR750.

These custom motorcycles will be on display at the Wheels and Waves Festival, and online voting is available at hondacustoms.com. Voting will remain open until the end of summer, after which the winners will be announced.

In addition, graffiti artist Moka 187 will perform a live art performance at the venue, creating unique artwork for the custom bikes on display.
