Daytona has released “Pipe Engine Guards” compatible with the Suzuki SV650 (’16–’23) and SV650X (’18–’23). These multifunctional parts not only protect the bike in the event of a fall but also allow for the installation of accessories such as fog lights.
These engine guards feature a simple design that blends seamlessly with the bike’s body and are easy to install.
This pipe engine guard features a simple design that complements the slim V-twin engine. Its understated matte black finish allows it to blend naturally with the bike’s body. It features a separate left- and right-side design, making installation easy since the exhaust doesn’t need to be removed. The estimated installation time for a skilled mechanic working alone is 0.5 hours.
The main pipe is made of Φ25.4 steel tubing. This allows for the attachment of handlebar-clamped accessories such as fog lights and action cameras. Furthermore, functionality can be enhanced by installing the separately sold reduction slider.
Balancing Damage Mitigation and Functionality Expansion
Engine guards play a crucial role in the event of minor crashes, such as a tip-over. By making contact with the ground first, they create space between the ground and parts of the bike or the engine guard itself, preventing the rider’s legs from getting pinched. It also protects the area around the crankcase and reduces damage to the engine, helping to prevent situations where the bike becomes inoperable due to a cracked crankcase.
In terms of expanded functionality, the Φ25.4 main pipe allows for the mounting of accessories such as fog lights and action cameras. It is also compatible with the separately sold “Reduction Slider (Single)” (Part No.: 96388) and the “Precious Ray Small” LED fog light unit (White: 48495, Yellow: 64587).However, please note that the LED fog lamp unit “Precious Ray W” (40329) cannot be installed.
The price is 31,680 yen (tax included), and it is compatible with the SV650 (2016–2023) and SV650X (2018–2023).
