New colors for the 2026 model year of the "Monkey 125! All new playful yellow/red/black!

Honda has unveiled in Europe the 2026 model of the Monkey 125, the world's favorite leisure bike. The updated model introduces three new color combinations, which carry on the spirit of previous models while adding a modern, playful touch. With cumulative sales in the European market expected to surpass 25,000 units, the lineup now radiates even more individuality. The 125 series is also popular in Japan, and the new colors are expected to be introduced in Japan.

Three new color variations that enhance the individuality of past generations

The 2026 Monkey 125 features new visual options that further accentuate its distinctive silhouette. The most notable is a matte gun powder black metallic frame with a matching powder black metallic color for a fearless style. This is complemented by a striking new combination of a sophisticated Night Silver Metallic body with Millennium Red accents. In addition, a Pearl Himalayan White body with a banana yellow frame is also available. This vibrant color scheme is designed to further enhance the Monkey's "playful personality," and following the improvements made to the 2025 model year, this color refresh further diversifies the appeal of this pocket-sized icon.

Trajectory from an amusement park ride to a globally popular model

The history of the Monkey began in 1961 with the Z100, a model designed specifically for use in Japanese amusement parks. At the time, it was powered by the 3.1 kW OHV engine of the Super Cub C50, and the first mass-produced model for export was produced by just five Honda employees. The production line at the time was only 7 meters long and produced about 20 units per day, but the little bike spread around the world. The third generation model, introduced in 1974, established a template for the Monkey that has lasted to the present day, and its frame design remained unchanged for more than 30 years. 2018 saw a major upgrade from the previous 50cc engine to 125cc. Along with the updated styling, the specs also evolved. Furthermore, along with its siblings, the Super Cub C125 and Dax 125, which use the same engine, the new model is EURO5+ compliant. No new models have been announced for Japan since the 2024 model year, but the new European colors and the introduction of the new model in Japan will be a must-see. To the gallery (3)
