【MXGP】 Triumph to Make First Entry into Top Class from 2027! Planning to Deploy "TF 450-X"

Triumph Factory Racing has announced a new three-year contract with Guillem Farres, currently the points leader in the FIM MX2 Motocross World Championship, and will promote him to the top MXGP class starting from the 2027 season. The team will deploy the "TF 450-X" and make their debut in the top class alongside Mikkel Haarup.

Guillem Farres Promoted to MXGP from 2027

Triumph Factory Racing has announced its participation in the FIM MXGP Motocross World Championship from the 2027 season. They have signed a new three-year contract with Guillem Farres, currently the points leader in the FIM MX2 Motocross World Championship, and will promote him to the top MXGP class. The "TF 450-X" is scheduled to be deployed as the racing machine.

In the MXGP class, in addition to Guillem Farres, Mikkel Haarup, who has supported the team's development so far, will participate as his teammate, challenging the top class with a two-rider lineup. Meanwhile, Camden McLellan will remain in the MX2 class and continue to compete with the "TF 250-X". This marks a new phase for Triumph's factory participation, moving to a three-rider lineup across two classes for the 2027 season.

Guillem Farres, who joined the team in 2025, has made remarkable progress in the 2026 MX2 season. With five Grand Prix victories and five additional overall podium finishes, he holds the championship lead. His teammate Camden McLellan is also ranked third, and the team aims for the title in the remaining five races of the 2026 season, held in Sweden, the Netherlands, Turkey, China, and Australia.

Guillem Farres, who has been confirmed for promotion to the MXGP class, revealed that staying with Triumph was his top priority. He described the team as a family since he returned to Europe from America to start his professional career, emphasizing the mutual trust within the environment. He has already conducted test rides of the TF 450-X and expressed confidence for the new challenge.

Team Manager Vincent Bereni praised Guillem Farres's achievements in the 2026 season and explained that there is great potential in the MXGP class with the TF 450-X. Ian Kimber, Head of Global Racing Program, also highly commended the team cohesion and rider development built over three years, expressing anticipation for the full-scale participation in the 2027 season.
