Editor's Recommendation: Easy-to-ride SS for short riders? YAMAHA YZF-R9 [Webike Owner's Pickup]

The Yamaha YZF-R9 is a supersport model released in Japan in 2025. While sharing the same engine as the MT-09 series, its dedicated frame and aerodynamically designed body cowl give it the potential for track riding while also achieving high versatility for touring.

In particular, the CP3 engine, which emphasizes low-speed torque, balances ease of handling in everyday riding with powerful acceleration, making it a characteristic SS that enhances comfort on the street. It also features advanced electronic control systems, providing safe and sporty riding for riders of all skill levels.

Tansoku Rider chose the YZF-R9 to relieve stress. They are particularly satisfied with the YZF-R9's better ground reach and easier side stand deployment compared to their previous CBR600RR. The comfort of long-distance travel with cruise control and the ability to use custom parts from the MT-09SP are also pleasing points.

To relieve stress.

★ Has low-speed torque, making it easy to ride on local roads.
★ As I have short legs, it was difficult to deploy the side stand when riding the CBR600RR, but the R9 is unusually easy to deploy.
★ Cruise control makes long distances comfortable.
★ Most of the parts I had on my previous 2022 MT-09SP fit! (lol)

★ My butt gets hot.
★ The riding position is tough, but I knew that going in.
★ With the single seat cowl installed, taking out the ETC card is extremely troublesome.

It's easy to ride with its low-speed torque.
The riding position is tough, but I think you'll get used to it.
It's a good first SS.

Muffler (Recent mufflers are ridiculously expensive lol)
