Ata-no-miya Shikou Shrine, located in Mie Prefecture and revered as the \"Guardian Deity of the Head,\" has produced a new design for a \"Motorcycle Helmet-shaped Goshuin\" with the full cooperation of helmet manufacturer OGK KABUTO Co., Ltd. Distribution will commence on Sunday, September 20, 2026, with a donation of 800 yen per item. In addition to in-person visits, mail applications via a dedicated form are also available for remote prayers (youhai goshuin).

The motif adopted is the \"KAMUI-5,\" OGK KABUTO's flagship full-face helmet, which underwent a full model change in 2026. The shrine has been distributing a \"Bicycle Helmet-shaped Goshuin\" since May 2026, and this offering marks the second collaboration. The design features a priest performing purification rites, the traditional \"Yagasuri\" (arrow feather) pattern for warding off evil, and a mark wishing for a safe and happy motorcycle life.

Background of the Collaboration Born from the Desire to \"Protect Heads\" and Application Method

Since 2022, Ata-no-miya Shikou Shrine has been conducting \"helmet purification\" for motorcycles and bicycles as part of its traffic safety prayers. Meanwhile, OGK KABUTO not only develops and manufactures helmets but also engages in helmet-wearing awareness activities in collaboration with local governments and the police. This initiative was born from the convergence of the shrine's prayers for the safety of worshippers and the manufacturer's philosophy of protecting riders' heads, both sharing a common desire to \"protect heads.\"

Shrine offerings can be received at the shrine office between 9:00 AM and 5:00 PM. For mail requests, applicants must submit a request through the dedicated application form and transfer the donation amount of 800 yen plus a shipping fee of 500 yen (for up to 3 items) to Japan Post Bank. Please note that the shipping date will be the date of dispatch from the shrine, and shipping may take longer during year-end and New Year holidays or festival periods.
