On May 16 and 17, 2026, the 2026 Hertz FIM Trial World Championship Japan Roads Japanese Grand Prix was held at the Mobility Resort Motegi. This event is positioned as the opening round of the 2026 season of the FIM Trial World Championship, the pinnacle of trial competition.

Blessed with fine weather on both days, 48 top riders from around the world gathered for the event. The riders attracted the audience with their powerful performance, which is unique to trial competitions where riders compete to see how smoothly they can ride through challenging sections with rocks, logs, and other obstacles.

In the top "Trial GP" class, Tony Bou (Spain), the absolute champion who has won the championship for 19 consecutive years, won the two-day event. At the awards ceremony, Mr. Toshiyuki Ishii, President and Representative Director of Nippon Road Corporation, took the stage as a presenter to congratulate the competitors on their good performance and presented them with their trophies.

PR for Japan Roadway's environmental technology and display of the latest equipment will also be on display.

Nippon Roadway Co. exhibited a PR booth at the event to introduce the company's sustainable technologies. Specifically, the company exhibited "Bio-Carbon Ascon," an asphalt mixture to which biochar, a CO₂-fixing agent, is added, and "Moclock," a carbon-neutral paving block that makes effective use of thinned wood.

Also on display was the latest asphalt finisher "ASTRA," jointly developed with Sumitomo Construction Machinery Co. This state-of-the-art machine, equipped with automatic steering and telescoping devices, was so popular that visitors lined up for a test-ride demonstration.
