At the 2026 Taipei International Motorcycle Show, Taiwan Yamaha announced the official introduction of the popular retro-style model "XSR155" to Taiwan. The company began accepting pre-orders for a limited 55 units at the venue and will also offer an additional limited sale of 10 units each of the "YZF-R9," "YZF-R7," and "YZF-R3" in the "70th Anniversary Color" that sold out immediately upon its release.

Taiwan Yamaha exhibited a booth at the 2026 Taipei International Motorcycle Show to commemorate the 70th anniversary of Yamaha Motor Co., Ltd. and the 40th anniversary of Taiwan Yamaha. During the event, they announced the official introduction of the highly anticipated retro-modern model "XSR155" to Taiwan.

The XSR155 inherits Yamaha's "Faster Sons" design philosophy, featuring a round LED headlight, LCD meter, and a muscular fuel tank. Its 155cc liquid-cooled 4-valve engine is equipped with a variable valve system, and it achieves high running performance with an assist & slipper clutch, a highly rigid Deltabox frame, and 37mm inverted front forks.

The 2026 model will be available in two colors in Taiwan: "Dark Night Black" and "Metallic Silver." Pre-orders for a limited 55 units were accepted at the show venue, with a pre-sale price set at 148,000 New Taiwan Dollars (approximately 720,000 JPY). Those who place an order will receive a 3,000 New Taiwan Dollar coupon for genuine accessories.

The Elusive "70th Anniversary Color" YZF-R Series Returns in Limited Quantities of 10 Units Each

At the venue, the legendary race-based machine "YZF-R7 (OW-02)," released in a world limited edition of 500 units in 1999, was displayed as a symbol. The "70th Anniversary Color," inspired by this masterpiece, features a speed block pattern combining pearl white, red, and black. It garnered significant attention when it was adopted for Yamaha's MotoGP and Suzuka 8 Hours Endurance Road Race machines.

This commemorative color scheme was unveiled in Taiwan in March 2026 and sold out immediately. Taiwan Yamaha has now succeeded in securing additional units through negotiations with its Japanese headquarters, and will offer an additional limited sale of 10 units each of the "YZF-R9," "YZF-R7," and "YZF-R3" at the venue. This will be the last chance for fans who missed out to own one.

In addition, the booth features the latest models such as the "MT-07 Y-AMT" equipped with the Yamaha Electronic Automatic Transmission (Y-AMT) system, and the "NMAX" with its Yamaha Electronic Continuously Variable Transmission (YECVT). A raffle is also being held, offering prizes such as signed jackets from MotoGP riders for social media posts, drawing a large crowd of visitors.
