New Electric Scooter with Acceleration Equivalent to 160cc Class
Honda Vietnam (HVN) began selling the new electric scooter "UC3" on June 26, 2026, at 83 "HEAD" stores handling electric vehicles in 20 provinces and cities across Vietnam. This model was announced in January of this year and was previewed for launch in Thailand and Vietnam. It is equipped with an electric motor with an output of approximately 6.0kW, boasting acceleration performance equivalent to a 160cc gasoline vehicle and a top speed of 82km/h. Currently, there is no information regarding its deployment in Japan.
The battery is an LFP (lithium iron phosphate) battery that complies with waterproof standard IP67 and safety standard UNR136, and is said to have a range of approximately 120km on a single charge. The vehicle features regenerative braking, CBS, three riding modes (Standard, Sport, Eco), and a reverse mode to assist with backing up. The charging method is compatible with the international standard CHAdeMO, and a full charge can be completed in about 4 hours using the included 1,200W charger.
Equipment includes a 5-inch TFT LCD meter compatible with Honda RoadSync, a smart key system, 26L of under-seat storage space, and a USB Type-C charging port. Two grades are available: "Special Edition" and "Standard Edition." The manufacturer's suggested retail price, including sales promotion programs, starts from 57.92 million Dong (approximately 350,000 JPY) for the Special Edition and 56,545,455 Dong (approximately 340,000 JPY) for the Standard Edition.
Deployment of Charging Infrastructure "Honda Motor Charger Hub" and Warranty System
In conjunction with the vehicle launch, HVN will begin deploying rapid charging stations, "Honda Motor Charger Hub," primarily at electric vehicle handling stores in major cities such as Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City. These stations are equipped with 1,200W charging ports that adopt the CHAdeMO standard, and charging locations and payments can be managed through the MyHonda+ app. The charging fee is set at 7,020 Dong (approximately 42 JPY) per charge.
In terms of after-sales service, a 3-year warranty (unlimited mileage) is provided for the vehicle body, and a 2-year warranty for the battery. Furthermore, the battery warranty can be extended by one year by performing regular inspections. A comprehensive support system is also in place to ensure peace of mind for electric vehicle owners, including a vehicle buyback guarantee within 3 years of purchase and a one-year free roadside assistance program for initial purchasers.
