GS Spirit Sparks Domestic Competition "International GS Trophy 2026 Qualifier Japan

Once every two years, GS riders from all over the world compete in the "International GS Trophy. The battle to decide the Japanese representative was held at the Parcol Tsumagoi Resort in Gunma Prefecture. The finalists, Tsuyoshi Sugimoto and Yoshihiro Kon, who took on tough challenges in the misty mountains, will compete in the main competition in Romania in 2026.

The 57 competitors will compete in Tsumagoi, and two of them will grab the ticket to the world!

The domestic competition for the right to compete in the "International GS Trophy 2026" organized by BMW Motorrad was held in Tsumagoi Village, Gunma Prefecture, from October 11 to 13. The 57 riders from all over Japan embodied the GS spirit with their peers in the midst of thick fog and harsh terrain. The finalists, Takeshi Sugimoto and Yoshihiro Kon, were chosen to represent Japan in the World Championships to be held in Romania in 2026, where they will compete against the best riders in the world on the new R 12 G/S.
