Cosplay Modification: Upgrading Current Air-Cooled CB to 17-Inch Version with Classic 1100R Look

Doremi Collection's CB1100

The Honda CB1100R is a CB900F with a 1062cc engine and other parts strengthened for production racing. The CB1100R is an coveted model for CB-F fans because of its limited production volume and rarity of specifications, and now it has become even more rare.

This bike is not a CB1100R, but rather a custom model of a modern air-cooled CB1100 (SC65) that was made to look like a CB1100R using an exterior kit by Doremi Collection. No doubt a lot of work was required to find the subtle differences between the different year models and reflect them in the kit. Doremi Collection also produced an exterior kit that gave it a Z-style look in the mid-2000s, when the Kawasaki Zephyr series was popular. This concept of cosplay bikes can be said to have been the catalyst for the rise of the neo-classics that has continued to this day. This exterior kit is more than just a cosplay. You can enjoy the differences that a CB-F/R with 17-inch wheels makes.

Bodyworks

CB1100R plated mirror with convex lens plated finish, damper rubber and fastening parts included, left and right. It can be used as CB1100R repro parts.

CB1100R shaped type R aluminum tank is unpainted with affixing rubbers. Note that the fuel pump position differs depending on the model year, so modification may be required.

The type R seat assembly includes a pillion belt. A single seat cover and a seat pad are also available separately.

Handle

The handlebar is by Hurricane. Doremi Collection sells cowl compatible products (low handlebar/superbike handlebar).

Intake & Exhaust

The silencer is a JMCA certified product made by Doremi Collection to match this CB1100R look.

Engine

The engine and frame remains stock.

Chassis

Riding step kit with 3 positions to choose from.

This is an example of installation on a CB1100 with 18-inch wheels. There have even been cases where CB1100R owners have wanted to get one and use it on a daily basis. The response has been great even in France, the home of endurance racing.
