Andrea Verona makes a legendary performance at the Grand Prix of Finland! First win since moving to KTM and Enduro 2 class victory!

Italian rider Andrea Verona made an impressive showing in the third round of the EnduroGP World Championship in Finland, where the Red Bull KTM Factory Racing ambassador took his first overall win since joining KTM and continued his winning ways in the Enduro2 class. He is also looking forward to the 2026 season with a series of victories.

Saturday: Verona's long-awaited first overall win since moving to KTM!

The third round of the 2026 FIM EnduroGP World Championship was held in the UNESCO World Geopark of Sarpautselka, Finland. Following Friday night's super test in the rain, the race started on Saturday under sunny skies and cool temperatures. Teammates Josep Garcia and Andrea Verona, who are battling for the top spot in the championship standings, exchanged sparks.

Garcia took the lead in the early laps, but Verona would not give up. He set the fastest time in the final Polysport Extreme Test, closing the gap to Garcia to just 0.36 seconds. The gap closed in the following tests, and before the final cross test, the gap was only 0.23 seconds. In this decisive test, Verona won by a dramatic 0.85-second margin over Garcia. This victory was his first overall win since moving to KTM and his first of the season.

I'm really happy with today's win, it's my first win of the season in EnduroGP and also my first win with KTM. It was an intense battle with Josep all day. In the first half he was a bit faster, but in the second half I found my rhythm and flow and was able to win," commented Verona. In addition to this overall victory, Verona also took his fourth win in the Enduro2 class, finishing 48 seconds ahead of Pichon in second place.

On the second day, the unique Finnish sandy terrain, which had been roughened by the previous day's driving, turned into an even bumpier and more unpredictable course. Garcia drove aggressively to make up for the previous day, and Verona fought back. The race was intense, with chances for victory remaining until the final laps.

In the end, Garcia won by a narrow 1.31-second margin over Verona, while Verona finished in second place. This was Garcia's fifth win in the Enduro2 class, and he continued his strong showing in the 2026 season. In the overall World Championship standings, Garcia leads with 112 points and Verona is in second place with 101 points, and the two will battle for the title throughout the season.

The next rounds of the GP will be held in Portugal on June 12-14 and 19-21, and Verona will be looking to close the points gap to his teammate even further with a victory in Portugal.
