Yamaha's Pol Tarrés and Kévin Gálvez competed in the "Red Bull Romaniacs," the world's premier hard enduro race, held in Romania from July 28 to August 1, 2026. In the Adventure Ultimate class, Tarrés secured second overall and Gálvez finished fourth overall, demonstrating the exceptional durability and high potential of the Ténéré 700.

The "Red Bull Romaniacs," known as one of the world's toughest off-road races, was held in the Carpathian Mountains surrounding Sibiu, Romania. For the 2026 edition, Pol Tarrés and Kévin Gálvez of Yamaha participated in the Adventure Ultimate class, riding the "Ténéré 700."

The race kicked off with the prologue on July 28. In the artificial obstacle section set up in the streets of Sibiu, Tarrés showcased his exceptional enduro skills to take second overall, while Gálvez also made a strong start to the main event, placing fourth with his aggressive riding.

The four-day main race, which began on July 29, proved to be a grueling battle, covering challenging routes of 120 to 180 km each day. Among the more than 90 entries in the Adventure category, Tarrés held his own against lighter 450cc machines.

Tarrés finished the second day in second overall and achieved a superb stage victory on the third day. On the final day, despite two crashes due to dust, he managed the damage to his bike, finished third, and ultimately secured second place overall, just 14 minutes behind the leader.

Meanwhile, Gálvez, in his first attempt in this class, also maximized the performance of the Ténéré 700 alongside Tarrés. Working together, they skillfully navigated the difficult terrain. Except for a sixth-place finish on the third day, Gálvez consistently maintained fourth place, ultimately completing the race in fourth overall.

Pol Tarrés, who achieved an impressive second overall, commented, "I'm incredibly proud of the whole team. It wasn't an easy week, but I'm very satisfied with this result. I managed to stay with the leaders for the first two days and even won a stage on day three. On the final day, I damaged the bike in a crash, but I was able to control my rivals and keep pushing."

Tarrés further praised the machine's reliability: "The tougher the course gets, the more it favors the Ténéré 700 because this bike never fails. That's where we can make a difference. Even with the lighter 450cc bikes mixed in, we were able to fight as a team. I can't wait for the next Romaniacs."

Kévin Gálvez, who finished fourth overall, reflected, "We learned a lot as a team, and there were many positive takeaways. This class is extremely competitive in terms of both riders and bike setups. Within that, the team extracted the maximum power from the package. Pol and I showed great synergy."

Gálvez continued, "I also experienced a heavy crash due to a problem on the route, but I feel we have been great ambassadors for the sport. I'm proud of what the team and Pol have achieved, and I'm more motivated than ever for next year," he said, already showing enthusiasm for the next event.
