Bulega and Lecuona Shine! Dominating All Sessions at Donington
At Donington Park, a circuit historically considered challenging for Ducati, the formidable duo of Niccolò Bulega and Iker Lecuona from Aruba.it Racing - Ducati achieved a historic hat-trick, securing victories in all races of the weekend. This remarkable achievement allowed the team and Ducati, based in Bologna, to clinch their respective world titles for the fifth consecutive year.
Lecuona, who celebrated his first Superbike victory in Race 1 on Saturday, got off to a strong start in Sunday's Superpole Race but crashed on the second lap. However, his teammate Bulega engaged in a fierce battle for the podium with Yari Montella (Ducati) and brilliantly crossed the finish line in first place.
In the subsequent Race 2, Bulega demonstrated complete control from the first lap to the last, securing another victory. Meanwhile, Lecuona, starting from tenth position, staged an incredible comeback, recovering to second place and completing a dominant one-two finish for Ducati.
Season Tackled with the New Panigale V4R, Crowned Champions for the Fifth Consecutive Year
Team Principal Stefano Cecconi expressed his delight: "I am immensely proud to celebrate our fifth consecutive Team Title. This is the result of the extraordinary efforts made daily by our riders and the entire team. I want to thank the Ducati staff for providing us with a fantastic motorcycle and pay tribute to the incredible level of development achieved with the Panigale V4R."
Marco Zambenetti, Ducati's Superbike Project Manager, summarized the season: "This season, with the introduction of the new machine, the team's ability to rapidly develop and achieve such high competitiveness is extremely valuable. This result is the culmination of everyone's hard work, based on expertise, dedication, and team spirit."
Bulega, who contributed significantly to this success, commented: "I am proud to have played a major role in winning this title. We are heading into a break, but the work is not yet finished." Lecuona also shared his satisfaction: "It was a fantastic weekend, achieving my first victory and recovering to second place in Race 2. I am proud to be part of this great family."
